My initial reason for looking into this issue was the key felt very very loose on mine. So much so I thought it was coming loose. The look was a secondary issue. Now both are solved.
Ford should have provided a solution when it was built.

I will have to check when I am back. I used the measurement from earlier in this thread. I couldn’t find any at Home Depot so ordered online. Ordered a couple of different ones. The issue was the depth of the grommet. Not sure which one was the one I actually cut and fit in. I will check.
I grew tired of the loose feel of the key in the ignition. Couldn’t find a Ford part number so I bought a $2 rubber grommet and cut it in half. Not the prettiest but has stabilized the switch
