Hey everybody,

With Black Friday and the holidays coming up, we wanted to get some of our products out a little early. That includes these intercooler pipes! The pre-sale is now open here: Mishimoto 2019+ Ford Ranger Intercooler Pipe Kit Pre-Sale

We'll have an R&D post on these later on, but for now here are some highlights:
  • Improves flow by 25.6% on the hot side and 16.6% on the cold side
  • Increases internal volume by 26.4% on the hot side and 13.7% on the cold side for more power potential
  • Mandrel-bent aluminum pipes eliminate restrictive bends
  • Cold-side pipe includes bung that can be drilled and tapped for a sensor or boost gauge
  • Includes Mishimoto Silicone Boots with DuraCore™ Technology

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
-Steve
Is the intercooler available as a package with the piping?

How long is the pre-sale good until... the day after Thanksgiving? Or longer?

Just wonder if anyikniws the stock intercooler flow rate.

Website estimated shipping to hawaii shows free. Can I place my order or will that be canceled due to a mistake?

Hey everybody,

Sorry for the late reply!

The intercooler/intercooler and pipe kit won't be on pre-sale until February and won't begin shipping until March.

Looks like you already ordered, but this is actually a longer pre-sale and will be continuing through the end of January.

The stock intercooler has the following pressure drops: 7.54 inH2O @ 100 CFM, 15.64 inH2O @ 150 CFM, and 26.53 inH2O @200 CFM

I believe our free shipping is only in the contiguous US, but that may have been recently updated. It would be best to give our customer service team a call at 1-877-GOMISHI

I swear this is the last mod I'm buying for my truck, honey. ?

(order placed)
Haha, thank you for your order! We appreciate your support!

I'm a little lazy or just limited in my ability to check against your website, but the factory intercooler still outflows the replacement pipes, right?

Our hot-side pipe has a pressure drop of 15.2 inH2O @ 200 CFM and the cold side has a pressure drop of 2.99 inH2O @ 200 CFM, so the hot side just barely outflows the stock intercooler.

Thanks!

That seems like it would be a good thing from a boost perspective, right? (Explain for us less well read folk?)

i.e. hot side charged air coming off the turbo will flow at a higher rate than the intercooler itself... so the cooling effect might be specifically affected - but the replacement cold pipe flows more too. When I visualize pressure+heat travel through the system I'm wondering what the changes to the performance might be, sustained boost vs. on-demand. And what the engine electronics might do in order to compensate.

It sounds like the cold side - both factory and this kit - remains the most 'restrictive' (possibly good design) section... but keeping pressure the same at the hot side?

For comparison (using different flow rate?) Here's aFe's:

Excited to see the blog, videos and info on the intercooler pipe combination.
I'll be ordering during that presale... is that something my tuner and parts vendor, Unleashed, will have access to?
Thanks Steve.

Yes, with the better flowing intercooler pipes, the turbo should be able to move more air at the same boost pressure. The stock ECU tune will likely adjust valve timing to compensate for the extra air flow, but with a performance tune we'd expect to see some power gains from the pipes.

Thank you! The pre-sale pricing will be available to anybody through our website.

I got the notice that UPS has mine in transit.

I have to confess I felt guilty spending the money on myself at Christmas and attempted to cancel the order - but alas I was too late.

Merry Christmas to me. ?

So, same boost pressure/blowoff, but more air? I'm curious about temp reduction with the stock intercooler for now, but I fear this will 'require' an upgrade in the future.

No chance of better fuel mileage ever I suppose.

Can we get some more pictures of all the contents of the box? The quality already looks far more superior to what's available currently.

I’m wondering if the step inside the coupler that attaches to the turbo outlet would benefit from chamfering that edge... Or is that I.D. the same as that of the turbo outlet in which case the flow should be smooth?

Hmmmm
