My truck definitely started applying the brakes right away, but it didn't take any time for me to push the brake pedal with my foot anyway. I was behind a semi few vehicles yesterday and we were basically coasting to slow down for a wide load. Then an idiot right in front of a semi that was ahead of my decided to slam on the brakes and make a turn onto a side road. The semi locked up his trailer brakes trying to avoid running over the idiot. There was one or two vehicles between me and the semi.

And yes I was paying close attention, it was the idiot that slammed on his brakes to make his turn that was the problem. The collision avoidance definitely worked as it should.

The collision avoidance has kicked in a few times on me but yesterday was the first time I could feel the AEB apply the brakes right away.

I came close to getting rear ended at the same time since the driver behind me wasn't paying as close attention as he should have been.

Thought I'd add myself to this list. Driving back roads trough the mountains of West by God Virginia today, and looked down at the console for a few seconds; collision detection starts screaming. Looked up to see the ass end of a car with break lights. I stabbed the brakes and everything in the bed hit the cab. I'm sort of surprised it didn't brake for me with as close as I was.... or maybe I just thought I was closer than I was.
If your truck alerted and didn't brake, you likely have that part turned off. I have learned that these trucks came with settings all over the place...like maybe testing was done but not returned to a default position.

Really? I've never seen (or perhaps never noticed) that setting. Now I have to go dig through the menus. I found this on the Ford site.

If a potential collision is detected, an alert sound is emitted and a warning message displays in the message center. If your response is not sufficient, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you don’t take corrective action and a collision is imminent, brakes can apply automatically.

I bought mine with only 5 miles and my settings in the menus looked nothing like the one I test drove. I would read up on them as they are not as intuitive as one would hope.

Found it. Driver assist, Pre-Collision. Everything is on, except the sensitivity is set to 'normal' with options for low, normal, high.

I guess I probably just reacted fast enough that it decided I didn't need the help :)

Same here...usually happens when traffic in front suddenly slows and I'm making evasive move around it...no braking at all...just alarm...

I have mine set on high. I would rather it stop me than let me hit someone.
