We are supposed to know this coming Tuesday, 9/13. Chrysler is sending the 300 out with a bang - 300 SRT last sold in America for the 2014 model year. I want one. Speculation between the SRT 6.4 L and the Hellcat motor.... 2014 300C SRT depicted.

Nice but I'd rather have a Tesla Plaid. Better built and faster.

Faster? For sure. Better built? I'm reading Tesla has a rock bottom customer satisfaction rating.

Still, I think EV 'prime time' - especially for personal vehicles - is still many years away, probably after the criminal 'population reduction' efforts currently underway bear fruit. EV 'business - last mile' vehicles will be the first fully adaptable vehicles integrated into the economy of the present.

The 300C and similar cars are the end of a memorable era that many of us will miss. My current ICE vehicles aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

I think you're reading old news. They are light-years ahead of everyone in terms of technology, safety, production and their quality has improved significantly over the past five years.

Of course I do agree with you that that last 300C will end up being a enticing collectors vehicle. ?

I'm sure Walter White will like it.

Reminds me of the Mercury Marauder. From my anecdotal observations only two groups of people showed any interest.

Primary inspiration for the Marauder project was the 1994 - 1996 Impala SS. Most interesting was the full size muscle car phenomenon began with the 1955 Chrysler 300 and ended with the 1970 Chrysler 300.

Technology marches on as the old 440 Magnum, 6 pak and 426 Hemi motors made anywhere from 305 rwhp to around 365 rwhp on premium fuel. Todays 392 SRT motors and Hellcat motors make well north of that. The 5.7 in my 300 makes 320 rwhp.

************************************

Research showed the average age of the Grand Marquis owner was 69, 45 for the 2003-2004 Marauder. Original proposals for the 2003 Marauder depicted a supercharged SOHC motor with the entry price of just under $30,000.

Many were hoping for the Terminator motor that was due to appear in the 2003 Cobra. Upper Management wanted to kill the project altogether but compromised on the 'off the shelf' 4 cam 'modular motor' used in the 2003 Mach 1 with 85 less hp.

Unfortunately, Marauder was 700 pounds heavier, leaving the car seriously under powered - 240 rwhp on premium fuel. 5g Ranger has similar rwhp numbers on regular fuel. My 300s 5.7 makes 320 rwhp on premium fuel and is much more modern.

3 things killed the Marauder project. It was underpowered, overpriced ($34,995 before options) and the Chrysler - Dodge LX cars released in 2005.

*************************************

I was a proud owner of a 2004 Marauder, sold in 2020 with only 48k miles, replaced by my current 300s 5.7 Alloy Edition. Current prices on well maintained Marauders have been rising in recent years.

I still love the Marauder styling. If I had the money, I would restomod a Marauder, leaving the stock appearance that I love. Modern brakes-suspension are a must, along with a modern supercharged Roush drivetrain. Sync 3 or its modern equivalent built into the center stack :)

I'm truly passionate about these cars. :) My previous 2004 Marauder and current 2020 300s depicted.

When you start at the bottom there is no where to go but up. I mean kudos for bucking the trend and having a successful start up in the auto industry, but they have a long way to go to compete with the top auto manufacturers around the globe. Its the technology and EV knowledge that propelled them ahead, not how well they could slap together a car.

EV private automobiles are still a bit of a strange 'talisman' to the car buying public. High minded ideals, a 'badge of honor' that fail to meet the test of practicality at the moment. Then, the cars build quality and service network......not just Tesla either. Lucid looked promising but people in the know wonder if it will even be around in 12 months...

I hate to say it but ICE motors for max power are approaching a thing of the past. Eventually people won't need the guttural grown of a big V8 to cause them to dream of speed. I grew up during the 60s and 70s when muscle cars were everywhere. They are nice memories. Fast forward 50 years and the quickest production drag vehicle is the Plaid. It's not even close. The paradigm is shifting. I see Model 3s quietly goosing it from stoplights to fade off into the distance. I always laugh when a loud Harley guns it and barely accelerates.
