Does anyone know how I can change the default setting in Climate so that the heat to the feet setting stays on whenever the heat is turned on? Either that, or it automatically turns on when I turn on the front defroster? It keeps turning itself off, and in the winter I'd like to leave it on; I keep forgetting about it because I turn on the defrosters with the "manual" buttons below the touchscreen, but there is no such button to direct the air.

I leave mine set just like yours, with a split between defrost and floor. It stays that way unless I make a change.

Mine doesn't seem to do that. Every now and then I remember to go into Climate on the touchscreen, and the floor is turned off. I'd like it to stay as shown by default.

Is it because it's getting turned off whenever I use the remote start? I tend to use that on real cold days or when there's a heavy snowfall, because it makes snow removal from the windshield much easier, since its been heated for a bit. In that case, can I tweak the remote start settings, and if so, how?

Ever since the last update mine does this too. I'll get in and both the feet and face are off and so its the recirc. This is why I hate doing updates as the always mess something up! Yes mine setting are set to "last setting" on the remote start too.

Not sure. I rarely use remote start.

Hmm, great question and how do you have that setting in there? To use your last settings or go to 72°?

I believe all Rangers have that setting (I do on my lowly, non-touch screen XL).

I bet it's on the 72 one and not last selected.

here's a thread with pics:

and, LOL, my post for simpler screen:

and even more pics of mine - works with app start as well as Start-X:

Thanks for the feedback & links; this is going to take a little more looking into.

I've checked my CC settings for RS, and it's on "Auto"; I'll have to see if I leave it at that, or put it to "Last Setting" as I do want it hotter to defrost the windshield a bit before I clear it of snow (rather than having to scrap an icy windshield), but I prefer a cooler cab for myself.

Oddly enough, I tried the FordPass RS while I was in the truck, and then checked the Climate after I "really started" the truck, and the foot heat was on, but earlier today it was most definitely off after having used the same FP RS. I'll have to keep a close eye on it over the next few uses to see if I'm imagining things or if it's really being haphazard in its approach to what it considers "auto".

Does RS gradually increase the heat, or does it go directly to "max"? I didn't leave it in RS for very long when I checked, because I was sitting in the cab, and the settings seem to have stayed where I last had them, but I've also gotten into the truck after letting RS run for a while (getting the kids bundled up, clearing the snow, etc.) and noticed that the temperature reading is "Max" instead of my 20C as in the picture. When I checked it just now though, it was still at 20C; did I not let RS run for long enough for the gremlins to play their tricks?

Yeah, I only ever use remote start when there's a bunch of ice or snow on the windshield, since it makes clearing off the windshield much easier and cleaner.

I use mine all the time but more so in the summer. I've never had a problem with the setting staying when I shut the truck off. Normally I raise the fan speed to high and set the ac to low. Now I'm hoping it's not all messed up (as it is now) when summer comes because it's to darn hot here to be getting inside without pre-cooling it. Heck even then it's still scorching hot when it's been baking in 115 heat all day. ?

If you warm up your truck in the winter and there is ether snow, ice or both on your windshield use the auto setting only when you warm up. Or plan to next day set it to auto when you turn off your truck.

Overriding this and warmup is set to defrost and foot has resulted in some members ending up with cracked windshields. The cracks happen at the base of the dash line around where the Ford cookie is on the windshield. Cracks go horizontal across the glass from center out.

Personally I do the auto setting and then when I jump in change it to what I want for the drive.

Don't update it! ?
Honestly, I don’t think I can. ?‍♂
I have the 300A package - bare bones - I don’t get any notices to update - does anyone know if the 300A and that little 4” screen uses Sync? it has radio and time and temp - not much more.

Seriously, I don’t know, but I get along fine with that single knob for temperature control and the other for fan speed. ?

Use the steering wheel controls and on your screen I believe its "Vehicle".....go to your settings and set "Last setting". I think you have to leave the heater on its settings when you shut the Ranger off. When you restart it your heater goes with your last settings. Have mine set and works every day!
