Remote start AC settings

I have the Lariat with the factory remote start and there's no way to control the settings from the app or the fob. You have to pre set it before turning off your truck or put it in auto mode.

I just set auto mode and forget about it. -15 degrees remote start truck warms up to a nice 72.
100degrees bright sun, remote start truck cools down to a nice 72. (i have the truck set at 72)

just got to give it a couple of minutes.

My wife refuses to let the automatic temp work. she thinks she can game the system.

Mine acts funny, in searching I found a SSM.

A/C poor performance with remote start SSM 50293.

I am going to have them check it the next time I'm in the dealer

I believe only the trucks with remote start from the key fob have those options. The trucks that only have FordPass remote start do not have the options.

My '22 XL 101A without remote start keyfob has the setting in the truck and works with Ford Pass - I can't change it with the app, but it will kick it on to either the last settings or auto, whatever I set in the truck.

Hmm, I never thought to turn off the AC and heat and set it to "last settings" to see if it leaves it completely off? That would be better when I remote start the truck to keep the battery topped up.

I took some pics of the settings for the group. In the cluster menu it’s under vehicle settings > remote start > climate control. In there, the choice is auto (ac or heat will run to max if needed to cool or heat cabin) or last settings (it’ll run where you last left the climate).

Obviously this only applies to trucks with factory remote start (key fob), not FordPass only remote start. However, on a truck with factory remote start, starting with FordPass will net the same results and same settings should apply:

Okay, let's see if I can write this without making a confusing mess!

My Ranger is a 2022 XL 4X2 Supercab with 101A and the tow package. Nothing else from Ford.

Go to the menu.

Scroll down twice.

To Settings and select it.

In Settings, select Truck Info.

Then scroll down a few times.

To Remote Start and select it.

Then go PAST Climate Control.

To System and make sure it has a check mark (that lets FordPass talk to it, I think).

Then scroll back up to and select Climate Control.

Then select what you want when you remote start your Ranger via your Ford Pass app.

Auto - Automatic Settings - sets the interior temperature to 72°F and heats or cools the cab.
Last Settings - uses the last selected settings before you turned off the truck. I tested this with the AC off and it did not come on, as expected.

I went out to look at mine, and went though the menu and I got to "Remote Start" and only seen "Duration", and "System". "System" was checked ON. Nothing in the word of "Climate Control". Guess it's already pre-programed to be Auto as it has turned on for me when I've used the remote start.
