its been solid so far with the universal mount, phone does vibrate a a bit from the mount depending on road surface. bumps etc, I haven't tried magnetic head yet. I would probably get the built right if I was doing it again its a little larger base, i want to mount my scan gauge on this thing and the little base of the bulletmount is proving difficult.

I just spent the last hour trying to get this to clip in without success. How did you all get this flush again? My side clips and back clips just wont go in (I've even hit it with a rubber hammer). I'm able to get the center spring clips in and the front clips but that's it.

I ended up ordering another "Finish Panel" (KB3Z-2104338-AA) as I ended up scratching this in the process of trying to get it in...

Looks like maybe the screws you used to attach to the dash tray are hitting some plastic underneath. That’s what happened to me, so I used a step drill bit to clearance the portion under tray. Used a grease marker on bottom of bolt to figure where to drill. Worked great. PM if you have any questions. Hopefully described it good enough.

just installed one of these. It's dreadful. The screws that hold it on don't line up with the slots, so your having to tighten at an angel (unforgiveable). And then trying to hold a nut underneath while you attach something is almost impossible. (managed it with some masking tape and a skinny wrench.

I installed mine like this too. I had to notch farther forward (towards the driver's seat) than I thought. Once I did that, it dropped right in. I fought it for a long time. Lost one of those stupid blue pieces in the process. No rattling though, so I think it's okay.

I just used a ball head allen and it worked no problem. I think the installation was easy.

Same here. Mine just will not stay down on right side. Also ordered a new one (and a RAM track to replace this)

The plastic dash is not even, you have to move the bull right closer to the cab or radio, if you mount it closer to the windshield it won't mount back in cause the bolts will hit the plastic panel.

Me too....except I re-used the Builtright dash mount from my Raptor so its sits a little higher than the one made for the Ranger.

That's great!

I was thinking about a lift kit for mine before installing it. Seeing it higher helps, thanks!

I thought my clearance issue was towards the windshield, but it was actually away from the windshield. I fought with it for about an hour until I notched farther forward. Fell right in to place after that.

I'm puzzled. What's the clearance issue? My problem is the the front clips are not engaging no matter how much I press

The rear bolts wouldn't clear the plastic at the rear of the tray mount. I had to trim farther towards the seats than I expected. I couldn't get all the clips clipped at the same time as it would rock on those bolts. Just something to check.

I thought slowly wiggling might free it from the blue things. nope! I lost one as well into the abyss (they disappear fast!). Fingers crossed it doesn't cause a rattle.

Mine doesn't rattle (at least the clip in the dash). The tray isn't as sturdy as I'd like though, so I am looking up a replacement. If they aren't too expensive, I will just get a new tray and reinstall the mount. I also know it would be easier to install the ball mounts without the mount mounted to the tray. I'd be able to readjust my balls (hehe).

Just so everyone here has it, the part number is 044B78B from Ford and cost $27.32 (at the time of this comment). Mine will be here Tuesday and includes the blue clips on the bottom.

I got the part number from this parts diagram.
