So you'd rather take a chance with a completely redesigned unknown product? First years runs are always iffy and you could be looking at several recalls and/or TSB's. Instead of one potential headache (10R80) you could be looking at multiple ones with an unproven new powertrain.I did not need to read this thread. As soon as the 2024 Tacos hit dealer lots I’ll be taking a look. I’m enjoying the heck out of this truck, but damn it! The trans on the 2019s seem to be ticking time bombs.
If the 10R80 is your main concern buy a ESP and enjoy it. You'll most likely have to buy an extended warranty on a Tacoma or any new vehicle for that matter. With the amount of tech in all these now it's almost a must have extra.

then take a chance with something unknown. Worst case the 10R80 goes ? and you get it fixed for the deductible. Now you have the newest one which should hopefully be good for many more years.
