Tis the season! What is everyone out there using for bug removal on both clear coat and windshield? I washed my vehicle last weekend and was incredibly disappointed with the amount of bug gunk that I was unable to remove with just the pressure washer!

I have been using meguiars hybrid ceramic wax, with each wash, bug come off real easy and the shine is great

I use turtle wax bug and tar remover. Works pretty good for me. Never had any wax that would just allow me to wash the bugs off.

I tried the turtle wax on my wife’s car and my truck before I used the ceramic hybrid. I drove from SW MO to Tampa and back. And the bugs came right off when I washed it using a plain hose. It is not really a wax,

Hydrogen peroxide works great to soften them up, then spray off with water.

Bug B Gone works wonders. Made by Sea Foam I believe. Non abrasive as I am not a fan of scrubbing with abrasive material on expensive headlight lenses and paint. (I believe the turtle wax product has abrasive in it). It isn’t cheap but you can purchase in gallon containers and refill a spray bottle.

Spray it on (not on hot paint), let it sit a minute or so and sponge off. It does take a little scrubbing if the stuff is really baked on.

I came back from the Oshkosh airshow last night and my whole front end is solid big splatter. Will take less than 5 minutes to remove with this stuff

Just remember, whatever you decide to use, most products will remove your wax/sealant.. Be sure to re-wax all the areas you went over.

Some detailers use the foam version professionally. Stuff works.

A high pH soap will work pretty good. You can also add windex or industrial glass cleaner to your soap bucket for a really hot batch.

Goo Gone Spray Gel - Clear coat safe.
To save money, I try to purchase a generic/multipurpose chemical that works/solves other automotive problems.
Removes automotive bumper/window stickers, bird droppings, tree sap, brake dust and asphalt.;)
Of course, it will work on bugs.
BTW … Be extremely careful on bird droppings - birds eat small pieces of gravel for lunch, so carefully, after the chemical works, wipe it away with large portions of water to prevent scratching your Ranger!

WD-40 works like a charm. Take care with the wax though.

The nice thing about foam-based bug cleaners (like Turtle Wax), is you can apply and let sit without it running all over everything. Come back and simply wipe off without scrubbing.

Been using Zep-O-Shine car wash and bugs come off easy with mesh sponge, it's a little expensive though!
