The insurance cost me more for the truck then the Shelby. Both full coverage but the Shelby is a 08
I switched my dream car - '03 Lexus GS 430 for the Ranger and the insurance was essentially a wash. Before the Lexus I had an '02 Mustang GT and was looking at Cobras which in those days would be hard pressed to out run our Rangers, and the insurance was going to be over $100/month more than the GT. Go figure - as they say they have us coming and going.

Rinse with distilled water or towel dry should prevent spots in the future.

I use P&S beadmaker as a wetting agent after I wash. Light mist while truck is still wet and towel dry. Haven’t had water spot problem since. And our water is on the hard side.

If you can catch it right away spray wax or speed detailer usually work. Like @Ace Holliday said after a while (especially if it's been in the sun) it will etch into the clear and will have to be buffed out.

My water here in AZ is the hardest I've ever had. I have a whole house water softener and still need to add a spigot off the softener in the garage. The key thing is washing it either really early morning or just as the suns setting so it doesn't flash dry. I just constantly re-wet the truck as I'm rinsing other panels and dry with a chamois and haven't had any problems with water spots. Also make sure you have a good coat of wax on it so that'll help protect it and make it easier to get the hard water spots off. In the 5 years I've lived here I've never had any spots doing it this way.

I finally got around to adding a spigot to my water softener this week. I bought a new pressure washer I didn't want to run the hard water through it. It made a big difference washing my truck as it's so dry here even first thing in the morning.

Here's a good video all about removing water spots and also how to prevent them. Pan has some great detailing videos and you can usually find any info you need on detailing looking through his past videos.

Adams washes says it is ok for the soaped up parts of the car to dry in the sun just not the rinsed sections. This didn't sound right to me at first , but I have used their car shampoo for years and it is true. Look at about the 4:09 point of the video to see their explanation.

This is like one of those "Can You Find..." pictures where stuff is/is not:

Like:
Water inlet is through a garden hose (probably from neighbors house)
Electrical is not plugged in
flex gas/electrical conduit used for water out
envirotec is misspelled
phone number is for non existent country
overflow tube for water heater exits through drywall at midlevel
tanks not strapped in case drunken owner drives vehicles into tanks...

??
lot of fun thanks

Makes sense as I've has the soap somewhat dry on my truck before but it comes out easy when drying whereas the plain water will spot. Although I wouldn't be washing my vehicle in direct sunlight to begin with. ?

Lol...There's another outlet behind the softener and no worries about crashing into it as I park on the other side. Now the garage cabinets might be so lucky! ?
