Line-X spray in bed coating was included as part of the new truck sale and this is my 2nd truck with it. I have noting but praise for their product and professional installation.

As far as the cover goes mine is the Bak Revolver X4 and also is an excellent product. Not 100% water proof or dust proof but it’s rare water gets in even when I wash it with a pressure washer.

When I was camping in the Kansas flint hills we went several miles on a gravel road to a very remote place called Teeter Rock and when we returned to the campsite my bed was filled with dust with the cover closed. Don’t know if the dust came in via the cover or the tailgate openings but it easily found its way in.

My Ranger is a 2019 I bought in late February 2020 and bought the BAK cover on a Black Friday sale November 2020 which included professional installation I think the sale price was 900.00. Security wise, it’s good but I believe

a crow or wonder bar would be able to defeat it.
That’s the one I really wanted.. being honest there isn’t much a crowbar/wonder bar can’t defeat with enough effort..

We have factory liner which works great.

With so many cover styles, it's not an easy decision.

I wanted security, strong build, and T-slot rails, so went with the RetraxPro XR. Built rock solid. Our SCab has more length and haven't been bothered by the canister. Have only removed it once to haul a new TV home from Costco. Simple removal by removing clamps, then lifting out.

Ordered from Tonneau Factory Outlet. Shipped to us directly from Retrax.
I see they've got ball bearing rollers and a lifetime guarantee ?

I went with the OEM thick rubber bed mat, and a cheapo $250 ebay special trifold cover, that i have been using for over 2 years and has done exactly what i wanted with no issues at all. The bed cover has been really good with weather, since I live in PNW, we get plenty of rainy days every year and a few snow days, and i have not noticed any significant water intrusion at all with 2 winters and 2 fall seasons so far.

Yep, I won't keep anything of significant value under my soft trifold. I really just like it's versatility.

I worked 42 years as an electrician and I agree, wonder & crow bars have a well earned reputation and nickname of wrecking bars. The reason I even mentioned it when I bought mine BAK had a video on their website showing some guy on a security camera struggling to break into the bed of a truck using a wonder bar with the BAK REVOLVER installed. He eventually moved on without success. Personally I think it was fake video but none the less I love my cover and don’t regret it for a moment.

LOL, I watched the same video and everything else for that Bak Revolver. One vid was a "known" reviewer with a crowbar and after a few minutes he said it was tough.

He clearly wasn't really trying. Even a 2-pound hammer could probably bust the nylon locking tabs.

OR ... the easiest way to get in is popping the tailgate open with a screwdriver, like they do to steal taillights, and then open the tonneau. They might as well steal the intact tonneau and sell it on facebook marketplace! =p

That said, I have the Revolver 4Xs and love it.

The first one I got failed in the first week or two of having it, but they got me a new one in under a week and it's been good for three years and three New England winters.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it'll freeze on me and be impossible to open. I tried loads of alcohol on it to no avail (but when I used the alcohol on myself, it was no longer a problem). I've also used the heat gun, carefully ...

I tried silicone lube last winter and that helped for a few times but then froze up.

3 years later, a few months ago, note water stands on the cover if the bed rake is offset by the road

For me, I got the LEER HF350... It was one of the ones that will not let you stick a coat hanger in it to open. Got it in 2020 and it still looks new. IT's a hard shell 3 fold and seems secure. I have been lucky as it's garage kept and living in the desert we don't see tons of rain. Never leaks much. Every once in a while I might see some water from the tailgate area, usually a run only. Does let in dust like most seem to do. I also got the dealer to pay for Rhino-Line of my bed. Once that is done it seems bullet proof. The Rhino-Line looks like it did when they sprayed it. Oh, when I do need the bed I can prop it up behind the cab and it's very stable even on the highway. It's taking up about 4 inches next to the cab at that point. So I have never needed to remove it. Very happy with the liner and the cover.

I finally ordered a relatively inexpensive retractable from Synatecusa. It's got the t-slots I wanted and the canister is only 9"x9" so my little short bed hasn't lost too much space. Installation was simple and the operation is smooth. One downside is that it's got 2 locks instead of just one, but at literally ½ the price of equivalent name brand covers I'm happy with it. Time will tell how well it holds up. (The white smudges are from the styro packing material, it rubs right off.)

Gator trifold is awesome. Had it since I bought the truck in 21. Found it used for $100. Can have it off in 2 minutes for large loads. 95% waterproof.

and spray in all the way. Superior for everything.

Looks like a nice Retrax clone.

How did they seal between the front bulkhead and canister ?

Yep, it's a Retrax clone. They come with/without t-slots; auto(spring) & manual retract, and electric operation. The bulkhead to canister seal is a 1½" thick strip of dense, self adhesive foam.

I'd like to add a locking point at the middle of the tailgate to limit someone prying it up there. None of the manufacturers provide an option for that, even though that's the easiest way in on this type of tonneau.
