This brought back some very fond memories... I hiked Mt Washington in the late fall when visiting a friend. He was part of the conservatory that ran the weather station at the summit. The snow was already very deep, and the buildings up the trail were already under snow, with trenches dug down to access the doors. We made it to the tree line, but temps were already at -7F and winds blowing at 50-60mph, There was a wooden wall structure that I vividly remember feeling it shake violently from those winds. From just out the tree line I could see the summit, with snow drifts blowing off the ridge line. He told me that this was the end of the line for the day...too dangerous to attempt the summit.

Went back the following spring after the melt. We reached the summit this time around. But the experience was completely different. With the snow gone, the path was nothing but rocks to the summit. No real trail per se, just a pile of rocks every few hundred feet pointing the way to the top. At the summit we toured the facility.

A great day and a dear friend. Thanks for posting!
I see. You’re just a big ol’ softie, aren’t you?

Got more camp game cam pics processed! Crane is a Sand Hill type, Yes the wolf is collared. No, we don't fear them, been among them for 30 years. Our friend puts up wolf cams for his job and says they usually hear them and look at the camera.

They say everything is bigger in Texas but I doubt they have scorpions this big. o_O I saw this on Nextdoor and they came across this scorpion, it's a Hadrurus Arizonensis up in Maricopa. It looks like a lobster. 🦞

I've come across a few in the area here now that we're bordering the desert but nothing like this. Annie will never see this picture because she'll never go out walking or hiking again. lol

As a kid (probably 9 or 10) in the mid 1960's I remember seeing this critter under our couch when my super ball rolled under it. I reached under to retrieve it and saw him hiding behind the front leg of the couch. Tail was curled over his back! They get pretty big, 4" so. He didn't get me, and my Dad took care of him.

We have 3 or 4 varieties of them down there. But this one is the spookiest. The others are all lighter in color, and smaller. I don't like them.

That was my dads truck a 1987 Power Ram 5 speed manual. It does have some rust but in pretty decent shape otherwise. I drove it a few times to work in real cold weather with snow on and was unable to get all the salt off in time before it made rust.

Your truck looks real good shape as they are good trucks.
