Bad day for the Ranger...

The whole situation really sucks, I had this truck exactly as I wanted it... There's a ton of mods especially audio gear, and its fully sound treated... There's probably 200 hours into that trucks mods...

Thank you for this post. A red flag for us to be aware of people out there who drive foolishly and irresponsibly. A reminder also to remember the importance of driving with safety in mind. Really great to hear that you and your Dad make it out OK! You definitely had some divine protection on your side to escape such a serious accident. Well yesterday wasn’t a good day, got t-boned by a driver that wasn’t paying attention, he ran off the road reentered and struck me, here’s the Ranger after a very wild ride… He went under the rear tire at 75mph, the Ranger rear ran over the hood and began fish tailing so violently it actually scrubbed the sidewall and dug the wheel lip into the roadway…. How it didn’t roll is God’s work and I guess some pretty good driving. The other driver got 3 criminal citations and lost 9pts off his license.

Already at over $22k in damage and they haven't even taken anything off of the truck. The rear axle is very likely bent, rear springs are damaged, floor is crumpled, destroyed the $600/$400 front/rear door speakers... I haven't checked the rear Fox 2.5 DSC shock, don't think its going to be good news for it.

Hope you are ok. These trucks are built Ford Tough. Just had my accident and walked away fine.

other drivers scare me. I watch closely when driving and i see so many texting, posting on social media crap and in general being careless. how long will it take for your insurance to get things settled ?

Thanks guys... I'm not sure, his insurance is liable but if they begin dragging their feet I'll have my insurance take over and be in contact with my lawyer. If it isn't totaled I'll be removing all the mods and getting a Tremor or getting a 4dr Bronco Wildtrak with the 2.7L

My 2019 was totalled by a wrong way driver, but as far as protecting me did quite well. Made my decision easy as to what I should drive next.....another Ranger.

Noticed it even blew out the passenger trailer tire, but like someone else already said I too wonder if the added weight on the back of the truck helped hold it to the pavement.

One month later, haven't heard anything and its still just sitting... Meanwhile I'm stuck driving a base model V6 Ram... Thing is such a dog in the power department and has no options. I did strip it of all aftermarket accessories except the catch can and some led bulbs which if it gets totaled will be coming off as well.

OP, sorry to hear that they are not getting your claim settled. Insurance companies can be a pita. Hope you get some movement from them soon. Are you doing ok physically?

Well if someone's asking about the grill ... do you have a damper? That may be the secret.

But, most likely, it was incredibly cool driving skills and a cool head! I would have been like someone else mentioned, my underpants would definitely been damaged.

I'm sore and have a nasty cut and burn on my left arm from the airbags, my dad is hurting but he had back surgery a year ago but x-ray appears everything is okay. Truck definitely took the hit well... The truck shut down upon the airbags deploying and I had to man handle it... This truck was everyway but straight, 3 state police don't know how I kept control and didn't roll it...

The trailer frame is actually bent too, somehow the bike stayed on the trailer.

I am betting total loss as the truck frame is gonna be bent. Glad everyone is okay. If totaled you to get a MY23 or move on

Not sure what they are constructed of, but looks like the running boards helped absorb at least some of the blow.

Well finally got my truck back 01/27/23 and traded it the 28th, back in another Ranger! Although a bronco wildtrak and a f150 platinum did catch my eye!

Spent yesterday swapping all my parts from my old ranger onto this one!

I would have bet a beer that they were going to total it. Was the frame bent?
