The button in the bottom center with the P turns off the sensors.

I do have that button, so I'll have to try it out next time I'm in cold enough weather for ice to be an issue. Right now, it's too warm here. I'm not sure if it'll be any different than me going through the Lariat menu cluster (aside from faster, obviously), which seems to disable the functionality but not the high-pitched "blocked sensor" alarm.

If you are talking about the pre-collision warning going off, and not the parking sensors, then check to make sure that your CCM (radar module in the grille) is snapped fully in place and clean of debris. It is mounted on 4 or five standoffs that snap in place. Mine had been bumped and 3 of the standoffs had unsnapped from the module and mounting plate, causing the module to point down slightly. Every time I stopped in traffic and then started out again, it would set off the pre-collision warning. I pushed on the radar (CCM) module and re-seated the snap in standoffs, and all was well. It caused a C1001:97 (vision system camera component or system operation obstructed or blocked) DTC. It was mis-leading as the problem was really with the CCM radar module mis-alignment. I suppose that this DTC was set because the CCM is wired into the IPMA module (image processing module, aka. camera).

If you are talking about the parking sensors going off, this doesn't apply.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to pay more attention to what's really whining, but it's one of those two systems.

If you are getting an alarm from the parking sensors, make sure that they are clean. You may have to use a toothbrush to clean the groove surrounding the sensor of any dirt.

If you have a Lariat with the Adaptive Speed Control, the CCM (radar) module (and I believe the camera also)is used for the pre-collision alert. If you don't have the Adaptive Speed Control feature, then the camera is used for the collision alert. If the CCM was not used for collision alert, the mis-aligned CCM sensor would not have fixed my false alerts.

I just had to make a massive swerve to avoid some moron who ran a red light and almost destroyed me. I really need to get that Train Horn installed. My options were swerve and eat a construction barrel or let that idiot crunch me.

The barrel crumpled like a beer can. I was certain that I had jacked up the front end but all I got was a tiny plastic rub that will buff out.

I was Driving along in my '19 Ranger about 25-30mph. This guy is in front in a little shoe box much like they drive in Sicily, packed with 6 people, slams and stands on his brakes. On his right, there is a golf cart waiting to cross.
Thank God and Ford for collision alert and abs brakes. Nothing happened except my pulse rate was through the roof. and a few choice expletives.
Moral of the story, there are mentally challenged (idiots) everywhere that should not get behind the wheel. In closing those scratches should buff out. Look at it this way, you Ranger is not a virgin anymore. ;-)
