Well yesterday wasn’t a good day, got t-boned by a driver that wasn’t paying attention, he ran off the road reentered and struck me, here’s the Ranger after a very wild ride… He went under the rear tire at 75mph, the Ranger rear ran over the hood and began fish tailing so violently it actually scrubbed the sidewall and dug the wheel lip into the roadway…. How it didn’t roll is God’s work and I guess some pretty good driving. The other driver got 3 criminal citations and lost 9pts off his license.

Already at over $22k in damage and they haven't even taken anything off of the truck. The rear axle is very likely bent, rear springs are damaged, floor is crumpled, destroyed the $600/$400 front/rear door speakers... I haven't checked the rear Fox 2.5 DSC shock, don't think its going to be good news for it.

And on a side note, what rims are those on your truck? They look great!

Well, 3 of them do anyway ?
Not sure on the model but those are made by American Expedition Vehicles. AEV makes some very nice stuff, you may know the ZR-2 Bison.

I think that damaged one held up pretty good for the forces I imagine were applied to it.

I saw they were by AEV but I couldn't find that wheel on their website.

Glade no one was hurt. The ranger sounds totaled to me. I don't know how it works to try to recover cost of the upgrades you added out of pocket. I threw a $125 pair of Hertz in my front doors so that wouldn't be a big deal in my case but sounds like you have some jack invested in your sound system. Sounds like your dad is entitled to some pain an suffering compensation. I hate the flat out money grab lawsuits but yours is obviously legit.

Many insurance co’s will cover the add ons if you have receipts of everything. When adjuster prices out vehicle damage you hand them to him. That’s what they did with another total I had. They prorate some items like tires and rims but covered everything else.

Pretty amazing you kept in control and walked away! True skills ?

I have a Harley an guys always change their bikes. Every policy I've had required you added add on items to the policy to make sure they are covered. I never do because I don't make changes that add up to enough to probably get a rate increase. I've never tried it with a car.

One of the reasons for getting something bigger was to be a bit safer on the road vs the massive SUVs that some people have no business driving. Glad you are ok and posts like this make me think I made a good call on something that can take a hit and protect the family.

man that could have been deadly. glad you guys are ok. considering what took place the truck looks pretty decent. hopefully insurance will give you a fat check for it and you can get a new one, again. the extra weight of the trailer and bike may have kept you from being more out of control.
