Average Oil Change Price

Hi,

What has been your average oil change price? Research pointed me towards a local independent garage that would do a full Amsoil oil change for $99 plus tax.

They would also have no issue if want to provide my own filter and oil.

$99 for an Amsoil oil change seems like a great price, no? I understand it’s probably their OE line which is probably still a fantastic oil.

$99 for an Amsoil oil change or bring my own (which according to calculations cost pretty close to same)?

I do my own...
5 qt jug of synthetic, Ford MotorCraft oil filter....$30 bucks at Wallie World. Takes 6 qts, but I always have left over from previous oil changes...I buy synthetic 3-4 jugs at a time.

Thats not a horrible price if its all amsoil, and yeah i would suspect its the OE spec but if you're consistent about it than its probably fine. I think my last change using the top spec amsoil plus filter cost me around 70 bucks

I know me and I wouldn’t go past 5000 miles even if it’s the top line Amsoil so that’s why I’m thinking OE version should be good enough ?

Amsoil is a waste of perfectly good money that could be better spent on (insert vice of choice here)

Pay the dealer the 70$ for the works package and call it good. 20$ cheaper than the scamsoil change and you get a free tire rotation and washer fluid fill up.

My dealer charged me $110 for my first oil change. I wasnt too happy.

6 qt Mobil One (plus 1 qt left over) = $27 + Motorcraft OEM filter $6 = $33...

The one I go to has only forgotten once.

The time they forgot... they forgot everything else the truck was in for too... more or less.

My key got mixed up with the key of an identical twin truck... and they serviced that one instead lol.

This is what I do. Full synthetic for less than $70 at Ford. The works package

I did the Works at the dealer Saturday for 70’ish. Plus free coffee and donuts!
