I disconnected the small connector at the positive side of the battery. Did some testing, that turned off the ASS. Does this affect anything else? No errors on the panels. (or should I have disconnected it on the negative terminal?)
That monitors the battery , some have reported no issues ... I would not do it that way..

Forscan tool if you must , I was one of the biggest haters of that thing but its not a deal at all anymore , even use it on occasion, trains and long lights...

This video shows you how to disconnect it from the battery. AFAIK it doesn't affect anything else.

I still prefer the simplicity of the led nightlight. Easy to undue it, cheaper, and zero risk of complications.

If you don't mash the brake , mine doesn't even engage... I'm mostly in tow mode though...

What you just did is completely disable your Battery Monitoring System (BMS) the truck no longer has the ability to check the state of charge of the battery and turn off things if it too low, like ASS. Kind of important with all the always on stuff our trucks have. It will also use the smart alternator to continually charge the battery to 100%, not a good thing with the AGM battery we have. Thus shortening the life of the rather expensive battery. So yes it does affect other things. Your choice.

I saw these on eBay but just wondering about the "on at dusk" sensor. Will it come on during the day or is it dark enough in the cabin to keep it on? If not where is the draw or will it only work at night? Looks like a cheap and easy remedy.

My understanding is that the outlet isn't always powered on. It's only on while the engine is running and then another 20 minutes or so after the truck is off. Someone please correct me if this isn't right.

I didn't do anything, I've been using a nightlight. That's why I said "As Far As I Know" and there are many on here that have disabled it like in the video.

I just programmed it in FORSCAN. Is no one using that anymore? Primary functions for me is to eliminate Auto Start/Stop and calibrate tire size for speedo and milage.

I would think you'd have to black out the little sensor on it with some tape or paint. That way the light would think it's dark and always on and make the a.s.s. think there's a draw on it. You could also paint the lens black or use something to cover the light.

The question I got is why you can't find one in black so it would match the interior
