I have always been Car Crazy.

This is my first car. 1957 Chevy, picture is from 1969 when I was in high school. The caption on the back of it was written by my sister. I would like to withdrawal my request to be driven into the Ohio River upon my death.  ?

My mom always said I wouldn’t be happy unless I was doing 300 mph with my hair on fire ?

Pretty much seeing as my first car was a '70 Challenger with a 383 in it. It came with a tunnel ram and dual quads but those came off mighty quick seeing as I couldn't afford the gas. After that I has several classics from '69 Camaro and a sweet '67 Firebird. Boy I wish I had these cars now!

I met and talked to Dennis Gage - from "My Classic Car" at a big MOPAR car show! (I used to have a ‘70 Road Runner). This picture is so old that we both have flip phones attached to our belts LOL

I remember when I was in my twenties and a friend used to work at an “exotic car” dealer. He’d call when the coolest new used car arrived. Whether it was an Esprit, Countach, Jalpa, 308, Jensen, LM, I’d get there as quickly as I could so we could take it for a rip. Nothing like cruising around in an exotic, driving around trying to impress everyone who didn’t know it wasn’t my car.

Weird flex, but I’m so glad I grew out of it and that I’m not such a douche anymore.

I would love to have been around long about 72-75 when all these folks were trading in their 69 Camaros, 67 Mustangs, and 70 Chevele 454 SSs for ugly ass new mid 70s cars ??.

The good old days? Yes but.......

Wife and I traded in our 69 Camaro that was pretty used up after 60K miles on a 73 Nova SS 350 4bbl. It had all the mandated smog controls, and was a real pig that got terrible mileage.

Looking back at the headlines from that time, seams like things haven't changed all that much.

Well since I am on my 56th vehicle at age 60.....nahhhh.
My first car was a 1971 Plymouth Duster with the 225. Then I realized that was too slow for me. So my 2nd car was a 1967 Mustang GTA FB with a 428 SCJ. That was better.
