That's why I bought mine for $20 bucks from AliExpress. Doesn't do much glad I didn't blow a hundred thirty on it. Been in the truck for almost a year,

I know everyone has the right to be cost-concious I didn't want to gyp the guy who put the R&D into the product by getting a knockoff made in CHYNA. It just seemed... un-American. Of course, I had the means to pay for the legit part. If you bought a brand-new truck and honestly couldn't afford to buy the authentic part, I guess I'd understand. Just doesn't seem like it would be sticking to the Man appropriately.

I'm glad I didn't pay $130 for it because it doesn't do much if anything at all. Plus they're made in China. When I see something made in China, I look for the same part at AliExpress, dhgate, and wish.com. It's because I save money wherever I can , I was able to pay cash for my truck. Not a matter of not affording $130 it's a matter of I'm not sure what they do and I'm not going to spend that money without knowing. Further more I would say anybody that's looking to buy this part, don't bother. Or buy the one on wish.com and be glad you didn't spend $130 on it. . It's worth 20 bucks to check it out it out but not $130.

It's possible you saw no change in performance because it was a knock off.

No that's not the case because I could tell there was a change but that it wasn't worth the $130 one I installed on my Fiat 124. Not to mention that I had no negative issues since I put it in the year-ago. The change is not worth $130. It is, however,. worth 20 bucks just to get the better part rather than the cheap plastic stock one..
I've looked at both parts. The Chinese part is not a knock off it's the exact same part they stamp with the name on those sent to the US. Including the correct part number.

I am sure China puts these on their own "Ebay" PLUS I prefer the one without the name stamped on it as it doesn't scream aftermarket part. If I wasn't confident about that part I would not install it in a $40,000 truck. I have previous experience with it on another Turbo. It worked but wasn't worth $130.

There are so many parts and accessories that do this exact thing. It's massed produced in China or wherever and then sold to vendors who stamp their names on them and charge you 50-75% (or more) mark up.

Case in point those 1911 mags I bought for $16.00 are the EXACT same mags that come standard on Kimber and Springfield Armory at 2/3 the cost. Even the patent on the feed lips are exactly the same. So if some want to overpay and feel better because it's stamped Ford that's great but like you I'd rather have the extra money in MY pocket not theirs. :like:

I bought a lot of electronic parts for small projects off of aliexpress, they used to do this thing where you would prepay and when they did a run you'd get the extra. So if Apple ordered 100 parts but the raw materials would allow them to make 150 they'd sell Apple 100 and then the rest would be used to fill the orders. I would bet it's close to the same for these parts.

I have one in my mustang, all it really does is beef up the stock bpv a little. In the mustangs, cruising on the highway, the valve will open a little and you get a real annoying hiss sound. This just takes it away. Haven't heard a hiss in the ranger yet though so I likely won't purchase for this application. For the mustang though (manual trans), it has worked fine. A little overpriced, but did its job.

I have thought I hear the hiss now too since I don't recall from before, so that's confirmation bias for my purchase ?

Just installed the GFB DV+ on my Ranger which is also tuned and running a 93 octane Performance tune from 5-Star. I installed it with all of the provided springs to give a more progressive actuation (what they call a "Sport+" feel) and I must say that I am surprised at how noticeable the improvement is. The throttle is more linear and between-shift recovery is instant and smooth. I recommend it as a nice drivability upgrade as well as the added performance from near instant boost recovery. I lubed it well and plan on doing that once a year for preventive maintenance. I might even buy a back up in case any of the hard parts such as the plunger begins to noticeably wear as I plan on keeping this truck for quite a while.
Where and how did you lube it? What did you use?
