I really don't understand why Ford didn't put in a tiered counsel, every Ford I have had has had a tiered counsel, you know that place to but your loose change, pens, small note pad etc.
Something else while I think of it, it sure would be nice if the center counsel arm rest could slide forward about 2 inches for added comfort.
I agree with this. I being on the short side, I would prefer a longer arm rest in lieu of the floor shift.
I would be okay with a column shift, or buttons/knobs on the dash and have the cup holders further forward for a long arm rest. And wider/higher arm rest on the door.

How about this for an annoyance… looking at extended warranties online, saw some prices and realized I got RIPPED OFF at sale from dealer. Well…. Then I looked at the rest of my paperwork and realized I got ripped off on undercoat and xpel to protect paint. Called around and got some quotes and yeah, it was bad. (I didn’t buy from local Ford dealer, it was used).

Well, I drafted a firm but very carefully worded email and called to talk to general manager. Sent him the email and got a call in 10 minutes and they agreed to send my bank with the note a check to “make it right.”

Don’t have a firm number yet as they are waiting to talk to accounting but it will be close to $2500, and I’ll continue with my current warranty.

Good news, I won’t be underwater anymore and will potentially be looking at a brand new Ranger in the next year, but the bad news is that I feel like a schmuck for getting had like I did. I’ll never buy a vehicle again without doing my due diligence, so I have a lot of you to thank for that. Previous to this group I had no clue about car prices, aftermarket stuff, msrp, but god damn!!! Car dealers should be politicians. When the finance manager called to apologize and “make it right,” he couldn’t stop trying to sell himself and the deal instead of just saying sorry. I’ll be buying out of state in the future.

So one hour spent, saved about $2500. Feel better, but that was annoying.
I'm not sure I got ripped on the ESP. It was 2500 for 6yr 100,000 bumper to bumper. But what peeved me is that it is a 3rd party ESP that was sold to me by the Ford dealer. I guess they make more money from 3rd party. I am debating to cancel that plan and buy a Ford ESP from Flood Ford. The thing is, I won't get cash back as the money will be sent to the finance company so a new plan will be out of pocket.

I find it easy enough in low light conditions but impossible in the daylight. I solved it by just using voice commands. "Set Temperature to 65 Degrees"
I just do it through the SYNC display.

Apple CarPlay is great. Once plugged in I press Spotify and I can easily listen to music or pods with few button presses. What kills me is when I don’t plug in phone before I start car and it defaults to satellite radio which I don’t use and never will. That or am radio static! Not a big fan of sync 3
I still haven't figured out why I can't use the buttons on the steering wheel to go through all my Sat channels. It only goes through the ones displayed on screen. Maybe I am doing it wrong.

I'm not a fan of the a/c temperature button. Its really hard to see even in the daylight and i use it pretty often. I haven't solved it yet, I just feel for it and hope i dont hit the fan speed and take a/c off of auto.
I have the same gripe, I ended up putting 2" thin silver pinstripes above the fan switch and below the temp switches, so at a glance with my sunglasses on, I can actually see them.

I have considered going to a vinyl guy and have it done properly, so you could overlay a vinyl transfer so that there was a clear border around all the switches, I thought "hey, I will just buy the HVAC bezel and use it as a template....wrong, comes as a complete assy, switches and all $800

I also bought a second 12V outlet panel and shaved off the left one and filled it with plastic epoxy shot it black so I only have a right 12v outlet.

I also wish the rear seat folded forward to a flat surface, other mfg's have managed it.

Had to take my 12-1/2 year old Labrador to the vet Monday and so glad I kept the 2003 Mountaineer. Much easier to lift her in and let her ride in the cargo area with 2nd and 3rd row seats down flat. Maybe a more agile younger dog could handle jumping up into the back seat of the Ranger as it is.

This might be an android auto complaint and not Ford but here it goes.

The amount of button presses and page changes when trying to go from streaming audio to FM radio kills me. you would think that there would be a button on the touchscreen for radio? Does Apple have something like this? I would be willing to change my phone to solve this issue.
This annoys me a bit, too. Honestly I think it's due to the fact that Android Auto (or Carplay for that matter) is essentially an app layered on top of Sync3, and your streaming service is an app running within that. So in order to get to the FM radio, you have to exit both your streaming app AND Android Auto.

It would be nice if AA had access to the AM/FM channels natively. Not sure whose fault that one is.

What I find annoying is that if my wife rides with me, and she uses the seatbelt, afterwards if you don't return the buckle to be parallel to the B-pillar of the truck, it rattles. It rattles a lot.

And now I've started hitting the headlight knob with my knee when I get in and out of the truck.

Oh, and how the seat in the back doesn't fold worth a damn.

My 20lb terrier has had a challenging time getting used to hopping into the backseat of the Ranger. He's pretty agile and actually enjoys jumping/climbing on stuff, and he doesn't like the size of the doorway opening. He often hits his head or back on the door. He's able to jump all the way up to the seat, but does everything he can to avoid that. His preference is to hop to the floor in the backseat, and then climb onto the seat from there.

I have a seat cover hammock thing, and can only put it in hammock mode after he's up in the seat. So I really only ever do that for long road trips.

I don't think that you have to exit either. On Android Auto, I just hit the circle at the lower left, select the Ford Icon, then switch audio sources to FM. I can then return to AA to continue with AA maps and navigation. But I agree it would be a lot less hassle if you can just select FM from within AA.

I have to haul my old dog in the wife's SUV, the back seat of the truck is not old crippled dog friendly.

I wish the back seat in the crewcab folded down flat.
I wish my XLT came with memory presets for seat position.

Those are the two biggest things I miss.
Like in my '95 F-150 X-cab. You folded the seat over 180deg, then the back rest down. This gave a flat platform about 24" wide and the width of the truck. It would be nice if they could have done something similar, but as a 60/40 or 50/50 split.

I mean, you're still exiting all the AA stuff that way. Doesn't matter that it's all still running and you can navigate back to it. I usually hit the Home button on the steering wheel, then the round circle, then the sync3 radio icon, then the FM option. Then there's a quick sync3 button that returns me to the AA maps. It's just an annoying amount of button presses.

It's kinda the same process if I'm in AA maps and want to switch audio inputs from USB to FM, so it's not just limited to streaming. Which is what makes me thing the annoyance is due to AA being layered on top of Sync3 and not having access to the audio inputs itself.

I once tried using the Alexa app in the Ranger. Gah! Talk about awful implementation. It works, but it likes to hijack the whole system while you're using it. which just adds to the button presses to get back to whatever it was you were doing before.

I've seen it mentioned on the forums but something that still bugs me is the engine noise, specifically the sewing machine sound (fuel injectors?) only to be made worse by additional piped in noise through the speakers. I'm starting to get used to it but I remembered how off-putting it is the other day when I had a friend in my truck and he immediately asked wtf was wrong with it. I know it is what it is.... and it is annoying as hell. I think the injector noise is actually worse than the fake engine noise, but the dream would be that they are both silenced lol.
You have a '21. Purchasing the engine cover will reduce the audible injector click.

And you can turn off the fake noise with ForScan.

Rears do it also.

Whenever the family is getting out of my truck it's become customary to exclaim, "fix your seat belts ladies!"

I am planning on giving the engine cover a shot, so I guess I can update my annoyance complaint to "having to purchase a $100 foam accessory to try and mask ugly engine noise". Aware of forscan, have no intentions of using it at the moment (don't own a PC).

I bought a $100 refurbished Windows laptop off of Amazon. Perfect for Forscan and cheaper than any other method to change tire size.

Just an option. I never rely noticed the fake engine noise until I turned it off.
