I've always liked them. But I like funky looking stuff normally. The size is right, the adaptable suspension seems nice, storage is nice.

Too bad they seem to be very poorly managed.

Seems like a good opportunity for Elon .
I doubt he'll have that much free time for a while. I think he'll have his hands full for a while straightening out Twitter. lol :lipssealed:

He should sell Twitter to DT and really stir things up. Elon is good with EV and DT is better at Twitter ,lol.

I'm thinking EV demand/momentum might fall off some in the upcoming year , Rivian might be a casualty. Hard to predict but some analysts believe gas prices have stabilized and may fall more, after yrs of decline lith-ion battery costs have risen in 2022 as have the vehicle prices themselves. And then in the US much of the incentives/tax credits are contingent on North American sourcing of battery packs which may limit eligible models and other countries - European and Asian are claiming unfair trade practice. I'll be looking to make an EV purchase in 2 to 3 yrs to replace my wife's aging 2013 Hyundai.

Two doctors each have one where I work. They seem to like them but I suspect it's more of a status thing because several of the Teslas are also owned by doctors. The few coworkers I know who are actually into 4WD and such still prefer their Jeeps and Yotas.

I liked the design/style when I first saw a Rivian in the parking lot, however they strike me as rather outdated already. Kinda like what 1990 thought a car would look like in the year 2000.

For style concious folks there is always Mr Musk's Cyber truck - of which I've heard little of lately after much fanfare a few yrs back. Is this more to your liking ?

Anecdotally the Amazon vans in Vegas are increasingly becoming Rivians now. So they've got some of them sweet sweet Bezos Buck$ that's for sure. I don't feel strongly about electric cars or any of the companies but I notice a lot of these "journalism" articles about them read like hit pieces. If anything I bet the Mercedes van deal fell through because they don't want to create an electric giant that is not them. The electric Sprinter will be a hot item - as will the electric Transit.

But I'd bet Bezo's low balled them and Rivian being new took the bait. He's famous for doing stuff like that, going into cities and demanding low-no taxes for x amount of years. I'd almost bet the other manufacturers told him no when asked or made a much lower deal. I know it's business and you can't blame the guy but for all the BS he spews he should be paying his fair share.

Eh, if the Rivian is funny looking then Cybertruck an origami Delorian to me. Isn't the Hummer truck electric?

At least this hasn't gone the way of the Nikola electric scam.
