Hi,
I just had the battery replaced by the Ford stealership but still having issues with Sync and the built in hot spot.
The radio keeps defaulting to AM and the display screen keeps going to Auto instead of staying on night mode after turning off the truck. Also the Ford pass app will not unlock or lock the truck. The hotspot feature just wont turn on. I have tried the radio power and ffw reset and that didn't help. sorry this is a jumble of mess but at work and shouldn't be "web surfing"

Lots of threads on SYNC issues active. Ford software is not doing well. Mine has had the black screen of death several times lately. I did a reset (Power button and FF at same time for 5-7 seconds) about 5 days ago and have been good since. I do have an appointment to have it looked at since APIM being replaced has occured for some people.

RE: Your thread title; you need to be sure you are using a data type cable to launch Android Auto, and not a charging type cable. I believe the minimum data transfer rate is 10 GBps Edit 5 GBps. Here is an example of such cable: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Powerl...ndroid+auto+usb+c+cable&qid=1695316628&sr=8-3

If you have a bunch of cables to check out in your house - a data type cable will be thicker between your fingers than a charging cable. Try those cables first before you buy one if you have one.

Yep. I ordered new cables prior to my truck delivery as I was having issues in rental cars. This forum came through even before I had my Ranger!

What version of Sync 3 are you on? From the sounds of things, you may be on 3.4.22251. You need to update to 3.4.23188 to clear up your issues.

Lots of threads and discussions on here about these types of issues....

Do the BMS Reset and double. Heck. Also make sure you have a good charging cord.

I opted for wireless Android/Apple…works like a charm with th dongle.

I was able to get the gremlins out of my Sync with the latest software build and used the CyanLabs loader. FYI.

Did the update using flash drive and cyanlabs updater just the other day. Was easy and no more black screen/Sync 3 issues :)
