Adding Adaptive Cruise Control?

I finally did it! Installed and working, mostly.

Ended up using Positaps for the connections as I didn't want to bust out the soldering iron to splice in wires. The 18 gauge wire I used was a little difficult to fit into the terminal pins and housing for the CCM connector, but it worked. Might suggest 20 gauge or thinner insulated 18 gauge as previously suggested in the thread.

Got really nervous when the CCM was not showing up in Forscan, but creating a new vehicle profile while reloading seemed to be the solution. Worked great for most of the quick test drive last night, but got a "sensor blocked" error right at the end of it. There didn't seem to be any obstructions, but the user manual says that it can just sometimes throw that error for no reason and you have to hope it goes away or doesn't come back after ignition off. So hopefully not a significant issue, but only time will tell.

Found this via the Ford website. Looks like it has the same part number as the bracket?

I looked for that part on every Ford Parts website I could find. Except that one. lol Got it ordered should be here tomorrow.

Great work. You shouldn't need that cover if you have the CCM up in the grill. The cover is to protect from rocks and stuff when it's down low.
Plus, I don't think there's room for it. I have the grill mount too.

Yeah I went with the Westin grill mount and planning on that aftermarket grill insert to fill that gaping hole. Just trying to help Tom find one for him . Though I'm almost wishing I just did the factory mount as the CCM keeps "getting blocked" randomly even though it's at the lowest adjustment I can set. Its been leveled during install and added a stiffening bracket, so I'm not sure what's happening.

I know there are a couple threads where people were having issues after CCM relocation so I'll have to look into that after this trip. Maybe even calibrate if I get desperate. At least you can still use regular cruise.

I Found the cover, and it actually has already shown up. It will be mounted in the stock location. The rest of the stuff should be here by next Thursday. The module changes that have been documented earlier in this thread still hold true? Thanks for the help so far

Everything from the documents micl9 whipped up worked perfectly. Make sure to save backups of the modules before editing. Only hiccup I had was the CCM not showing up until I let Forscan create a new vehicle profile, but that might have been user error on my part.

Right on, I have all my modules backed up. I have added nav and hd radio, got a good deal
You guys know how to udate the maps? The module came out of a 2020 with MY20 on it. So I have read that is not as easy to update.

I did have about a 1/2 hour of oh Shit, It doesn't work. The module isn't showing up.
Then I remembered you said you had the same thing happen and had to make a new profile.

Fully sick Tom! Glad it all worked out and another person can be added to the "DIY Adaptive Cruise" list.

I've been following this thread with great interest for a while now. I finally decided to take the plunge and have a go at fitting ACC to my 2019 Ranger XLT 2WD (international). Thanks to the collective knowledge of everyone on this forum I was able to install mine without any real drama. The only problems I had were around the Forscan programming, as there are a number of differences between the US and international models (and most of it has to be done in the Asbuilts and not in easy mode). Luckily I had CHrisin to help out as he also has an international model and had worked out these problems, although there was still a small difference in Forscan between his 2021 4WD Raptor and my 2019 2WD XLT.

Anyway... a big thank you to everyone involved in this - you've been great!!

The big question I have now is... stop-go adaptive cruise control - is that even a possibility???

I would love to make that work as well. Seems to me the Tech is there, maybe firmware updates?

Mine already has it. But it can't be any harder than adding ACC.
Mine is off. Can't remember why I shut it off ( or did adding ACC disable it!? I need to check)
Not sure it would be worth the effort. But that's your call. And I get the thrill of the chase.

I have a lane keeping assistant that has a Alert + Aid but no lane centering, does yours have lane centering?

I thought that was Centering.
LoL maybe thats why I'm not impressed with it! The aid kinda bats you back and forth between the lines
