Looks like it just uses regular cuise (SET + and SET -) (Speed not distance)I'm guessing it has to have ACC to have TC since it's the same switch pack on the steering wheel.
Are you confusing terrain management with terrain control? You are wrong, I have a 2019 XLT FX4 with TC and do not have ACC. My truck does not have the Tech package. TC is part of the FX4 package has nothing to do with ACC.
That is exactly how my switches look.
Yes it is a supercrew FX4 with elockerYep that's TC... Your 760-03-01 Block is 0005 CS 70 which I based on this observation:
ABS Blocks 760-03-01 decoded:
No options 0004 6F
ELocker (FX4) 0005 70
+ACC 0006 71
+TrailControl 0007 72
which is ELocker (FX4) but the +TrailControl of 0007 at that block is a bust.
I know no options is 0004 Checksum of 6F
pretty sure FX4 (elocker) is 0005
ACC is 0006
and Loaded is 0007 Checksum of 72 <- but not sure what this includes.
I show your truck is a SuperCrew with the FX4 package based on:
760-02-01 of 0505 (x5xx = FX4, x1xx = without)
760-02-02 of 0503 (5 = supercrew, 4 = supercab) (3 = FX4, 2 = without)
based on my observations. Hopefully that is correct.
No guts no glory! Its the thrill of the chase. This thread should be retitled, Playing With Fire.
Me no care.No guts no glory! Its the thrill of the chase.
But need to tread CAREFULLY.
Somewhat derisked as Chrisen has done it successfully.
Agree - I would not use it in a traffic scenario like that. I commute on a 2 lane(4 lane?) hwy. The times I have driven it with ACC was awesomeDrove a rental with adaptive cruise recently and I hated it...when I set cruise to 70mph and the vehicle ahead is randomly slowing/speeding up, the AC adapts smoothly that I don't realize that my speed has dropped to a point where the rest of the traffic is now blocking me from getting around without aggressive pedaling...under normal cruise control, I can gauge the closing speed and plan for a smooth pass...no thanks to AC for me...
Agree completely. Wife's Mazda has it and it is definitely situational. Light hyway traffic it works well. Just need to watch you speed so you don’t get trapped behind slower traffic. People who can’t maintain a steady speed are the worst. Since I tow not having it is no big deal as I'm usually slower than most other traffic anyway.Drove a rental with adaptive cruise recently and I hated it...when I set cruise to 70mph and the vehicle ahead is randomly slowing/speeding up, the AC adapts smoothly that I don't realize that my speed has dropped to a point where the rest of the traffic is now blocking me from getting around without aggressive pedaling...under normal cruise control, I can gauge the closing speed and plan for a smooth pass...no thanks to AC for me...
Hey DaveThis is what I think it takes to add Adaptive Cruise on a US Ranger:
