I found some videos on-line that show how to do this pretty cheap, anyone done this to your Ranger? I really want one but the only way is to get the 302a package and it still costs around $250 more, which is around the price of rear sliders in other trucks. I'd also like a wider slider too if that's possible (4 pane). Don't need power manual is fine mine's a super cab (on order still). Called an auto glass place and apparently there are no retrofit glass on the market yet.

You can get the slider on any truck as an option. Dont need a certain package.

The ranger slider comes with rear defrost, so spme wiring is needed.

I order the slider with my STX because i wanted the defrost

That makes sense but when you build one online it says you need to add the 302A package which for $1800 more really just get you heated seats. The standard window also has defrost on the 301A package.

For those with one, how big is the opening? The picture on the website is pretty bad so it's hard to tell but it looks pretty small.

Google installing rear sliding window truck for videos.

When you build one online, the slider is listed under exterior. Its a stand alone option. Dont not need a package.

At least when i ordered mine

The slider is pretty worthless. A small child couldn't get there head even through it. Without a power slider option, it's pretty pointless. You can't reach it from the drivers seat in a screw, which means you have to go into back seat every time to open or close it.

I would totally swap out for a powered option. Kind of surprised, no one has offered one by now.

That makes me feel better not ordering it. I think someone will offer options in the near future like they do for the F150s, at least that's what I'm planning on. On my last Ranger I could crawl thru the window which was handy when I was camping in the topper which had a boot (no window), so if it's just to add a slight breeze it would be worthless.

If you really want a big opening there's always this: https://breezerwindows.com/

It is until I got the 301A package...then it wasn't ala cart anymore...I had to basically step up to Lariat level to get the package that includes the slider...another 4k full of other stuff I wasn't looking for...no thanks:crazy:

I have a slider in my crew cab, but like @Stic-o said, I find it to be a little pointless since I cant reach it form the drivers seat and its quite small.

Ditto - I'm not sure I've ever opened mine. I used to use it in my supercab quite a bit, but it seems less useful in the crew cab. And it is pretty small. I put long lumber thru it a few times on my old truck. Not sure much would fit thru this window.

My auto opener has blonde hair, blue eyes, and a car seat... I thought about fitting a micro actuator with 8" stroke just under the seat and cutting a slot in the plastic trim for an arm, but I decided I didn't care that much.

something like this could even be fixed to the rear window with 3M grey and you would hardly even notice it. Just install DPDT switch on the dash for open/close and defeat the latch. (the actuator is probably more secure than the latch, and nobody will fit through that hole anyways).

XLT requires 302A for a rear slider... XT you can option a rear slider without any other requirements. That’s how they getcha!
