I have to get 40 more miles per tank to break even on premium. I've neve come close to that. 22 is the most. now I may have been driving differently since premium was under $3 a gallon back then an I enjoyed the extra power.

2021 XLT FX2 ... My commute is ~11 miles each way, Mostly city boulevard type roads. Mostly 40 MPH short run of 50 MPH. I average ~21 MPG around town and I've seen ~26 on the highway, sustained ~70 MPH. Now if I push it over 70 it drops off to about 23 @ 80 MPH.
Same. Just not an FX2

some of the variations could be the locations we are driving in. im in the norther part of central texas. while some hills valleys and small mountains are around me if i drive an hour or so any direction most of my driving except for highway and off road is pretty flat. it seems like in the upper gears even around 45 and 50 mph.

My lie meter usually above 25mpg avg. Never performed calculations to verify. Noticed since last fill-up at Exxon stn 3 daya ago my average has gone up to 27.3mpg. Always use 93 grade and environmental factors pretty consistent last 3 days traveling the same 35 mile commute to work. Drive on flat grade, using cruise control 80% of trip. By far my best mileage to date however it is called lie meter fir a reason.

We also have RAD Power Bikes, since 2019, and I have over 1500 miles on mine, saved over $300 in gas, and had a blast doing it. (also helped me in staying healthy)
Photo at Fallen Leaf Lake in the Tahoe Basin.
I am getting 18-20 MPG on the Ranger, and don't baby it, has the FP tune.

The Rad Power Bike does look fun. I would consider getting one, but the streets I take for my commute to work are too busy. In reality, I would have all the dangers of a motorcycle and no safety of being able to roll on the throttle to get out of a situation.

With gas prices so high, one thing to pay attention to is how far you’ll drive for cheaper gas. Back when gas was $2 per gallon, I had no problem driving the extra 9 mile round trip to Costco to save 10 cents per gallon. At roughly 18 mpg, it would cost a dollar to save about $1.70-1.80 depending on how close to empty my tank was.

Now with gas at $4.60 at my Costco, that same trip will cost me $2.30 to “save” up to $1.80 per tank. There’s no reason to make the drive to Costco unless I am already in the area. And checking GasBuddy, it turns out my closest gas station at less than a mile away is only 3 cents more than Costco today. I know where I’m going to fill up this morning.

Yup $5.60 a gallon for 93.

I'm a broken record at this point, but thank God I have a work vehicle and I only drive my Ranger for pleasure.

It is like the one time in recent history its damn good to be the police with a take home car. Hell I think recruiters need to start using gas prices as an incentive. @Glocker

lol

I've read where many police departments have already used their gas budget for the year:
