Well, got a face lift on the way to work today. A car about 4 length's to my right on the highway spun out in front of me during a snow storm, bounced off the construction median, and ended right smack in front of me, BOOM! No one was hurt fortunately. Ranger drives fine, no steering issues or leaks, airbags did not deploy. Other party got the ticket. She goes in tomorrow for estimate. Any guesses here? I'll send the winner a piece of the front grill...?

If this was a Tesla, it would be totaled. Ask me how I know. Iā€˜m going with Wesā€™ estimate of about $12,000.

I'm not an autobody estimator, nor do I play one on TV...

But the real cost is $8550. not including any rental or additional return trips for fine tuning etc.

No idea on cost Iā€™d estimate around 10000 assuming no frame damage.

I am curious however did AEB kick in? And how did it do? Considering air bags didnā€™t deploy speed must of have been drastically reduced.

You know, I'm not sure, it all happed so fast. Although I did get messages stating the sensors were not working during that drive, probably due to the snow and ice covering them. I remember those sensors being useless on my VW when I was in a snow storm.

Sorry this happened and glad everyone was uninjured!

Knowing what my boss is going thru on his F150 with similar damage.......I'm going to say $14K damage.

Based on that driver side hood to fender gap, I'm guessing it will need a hood. Based on the front bumper angle, it likely needs frame rail brackets for bumper and potentially a radiator core support. Won't know till they tear it apart. Would suggest you take it to a good shop of your choice, not their insurance companies cost control shop. Also, plan for diminished value fight. I'm going to estimate 8k if the front fenders aren't damaged. 10k if they are damaged. There are a ton of plastic bits and fasteners at play there and they add up quickly.
Diminished value is for real...I'm on that for sure!

Depending on your state it may be totaled if that front frame horn is damaged.

Glad everyone is OK. I took a front hit from a lady turning left right into my path. No fender or hood parts an it was $5800. I'd say you're talking around $10K
