I paid $38K for my 21 XLT loaded after employee discount (BIL is a FORD GM), good thing I love my Ranger (so far) because it might be my last truck.

You just explained exactly how I feel about the new style. All I see is Maverick… Which then reminds me of a Honda Ridgeline. I definitely don’t see F150. It’s disappointing.
When I see the Maverick, I already know it’s a smaller truck, but I am really in disbelief sometimes at how small it really is.

They were smart because they’re such a market for a no-frills basically just enough to loaded up with some junk and maybe take it to the landfill or at least not to have to borrow a truck when you just wanna grab something larger from Home Depot

But capability wise… Forget it! I remember them talking about some unique rear suspension and it certainly wasn’t designed to be rugged. It was effective for one of the most light duty trucks I’ve ever seen.

I’m not bagging on it and I totally see how great it is for someone who just barely needs a truck, but for me, I just love power and enough off-road that it’s not enough.

And I agree that the prices are wild. I mean, even if there’s inflation, it’s still is a shocker
I think the Mav is why they seem to be moving the Ranger into a higher end bracket.

I saw a lowered Mav at a car show, gotta say it looked cool. They are just so small, the Ranger is the smallest I could go. My wife hates the interior size because when we tow, she loves having all kinds of stuff up front with her. She wants me to get an F150 but unless it is a Raptor, I ain't ditching my Tremor. That said, I WAS REALLY hoping the '24 Interior got bigger so I could have an excuse to get the Ranger Raptor.

I know everyone says ALL NEW but I swear those doors on the '24 look like they used some 5g tooling lol

Another thing I noticed in the Build and Price.
Navigation is on a trial basis on standard XLT or for 3years tech package. I assume it's a subscription after that.

Man, I hope that is just for map updates. That was my first thought when I saw it but now you have me wondering.

If they ever came out with a 4wd Ranger Hybrid with Pro Power I would really have to consider trading mine in. Otherwise this might be the longest I'll ever keep a truck because there's nothing out there with any "wow" factor.
That would be great for camping/RV backup power. The rear power that is on the new 2024 units is pretty sweet but I think I would skip it because I love my bed racks. I thought of wiring power to the bed but I just have not had a need for it.

I think Chevrolet has all the brands beat for pricing, but their main downfall was getting serious in the mid-size truck market after the resurgence of popularity at a snails pace. That and rabid fanboys across all brands that won't purchase a better bang for the buck because it doesn't have the logo that worship on it.

Prior to the third generation, Colorado's weren't even on my radar.

Also as another user pointed out, the existence of the Maverick is screwing new Ranger owners by nature of cost competition internally.

Chevy & Toyota don't have to worry about this glaring problem.

The other problem with new Ranger is outside the Raptor, all the components and configurations are roughly they same. The Colorado offers WT/Z71 standard suspension, Trailboss +2", ZR2 +3", and Bison +4". Then each of those models have their various doo-dads and specifications and each model has a targeted "idea" for a buyer. Commute/Work/Towing, Off-Road, Off-Road +1, and Off-Road +2.

You also have a wide range of tire options ranging all the way to 35" from the factory.

Sure you can modify even a base model vehicle into a fun mobile, but I suspect the average buying is more as a buy-as-is then a DIYer/modder.

So I'll stick with my 2020 till it dies.
Same. That's what I did with my old Sport Trac, it blew a head gasket at 212,000 miles and wasn't worth fixing. I didn't plan on keeping this one past 100k but now I might have to.

My wife gets sunflower seeds off of Amazon from EASYGO PRODUCTS for $100 for 50lbs bag +tax ($108). Store in garage in winter and house in summer. She has 2 galvanized 5 gal buckets w/locking lids, each holds 25lbs.
They are for myself not for birds! I never ate "bird-seed" quality sunflower seeds so I didn't know how they taste. I ordered from Nuts dot com, roasted unsalted. It's a healthy snack if one feels like potato chips, etc, just munch on sunflower seeds and you will never consume too many calories cause they take so long to eat. Like chewing gum kinda.

My birds (chickens) are fine with corn as a treat and that is like $15 for 50lbs.
My local dealer has a handful of 5Gs, including a ‘21 Tremor with 33k miles for $35k. Or, you can pay $58k for a 6G Raptor. Even a new XL will set you back $40k. Guess the advantage goes to folks trading in right now.

Just…wild…
Side by side the 6G looks awful compared to the 5. I don't know what this new grill "design language" is called but it should be "generic CUV of unknown origin."

i think part of it is ford really does not want the ranger to be a ranger. they want to sell the over priced f150s to everyone. the maverick is a thing since other brands had a hat in that circle so they had to fling something in too. same with the bronco sport. the 4g rangers sold like crazy and when they stopped them americans were ready to buy the 5g and they didnt show up. they were all forced into the half ton market and hosed on price, mpg, and utility. ford enjoyed that. they made more profit per unit.

Ford has rearranged and limited the option packages content. I ordered mine in March 2021 It is an XL STX w/ STX Special Edition pkg. I have such things as dual air, 8" screen and FX4; all not available on an XL anymore. Aside from the fact that you can't get a SuperCab, you have to move up to an XLT High or or higher to get those options.

Interesting because I didn't know that Ford had an STX Special Addition package. Mine is the standard STX appearance package.

HAHA! My bad, you didn't specify and in my mind 5 lbs of seeds is for the birds :)

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Very happy I got my tremor new last year. I'm not a fan of the exterior changes at all, the interior is an improvement for sure though.
In some ways yes........ but that stupid laptop screen just kills it for me. I'd be hard pressed to get used to that drive-in theatre sized screen on the dash of my vehicle. I want a truck. Not another laptop.

I can agree with that, the 5g screen is just a bit small. My wifes jeep compass has a perfectly sized screen. The 6g is definitely overkill.

I agree with you on the size. My OEM standard is too small to be practical and wish it had come with the next size up. This is the only feature on the truck that I'm dissatisfied with. At lease it has good resolution. Its not worth it for me to upgrade to a larger screen.

that's the difference between STX and STX Special Edition.
