I can agree with that, the 5g screen is just a bit small. My wifes jeep compass has a perfectly sized screen. The 6g is definitely overkill.
In some ways yes........ but that stupid laptop screen just kills it for me. I'd be hard pressed to get used to that drive-in theatre sized screen on the dash of my vehicle. I want a truck. Not another laptop.
Funny, I have zero issues with the screen. What I have an issue with is our new gen '23 Pilot backup camera, the Ranger and our old '16 Pilot had a MUCH better backup camera. I swear they found old Nokia cell cameras somewhere and used them. The vertical screen layout on the new Ranger looks weird but who knows, maybe I would love it after trying it.

I dunno, something about the '21 Tremor makes me feel something like I am driving my 66 Mustang (minus the lumpy cam and tire shredding power/weight ratio). I think it might be the solid axle or the utilitarian interior design, who knows but love this little truck.

I think Chevrolet has all the brands beat for pricing, but their main downfall was getting serious in the mid-size truck market after the resurgence of popularity at a snails pace. That and rabid fanboys across all brands that won't purchase a better bang for the buck because it doesn't have the logo that worship on it.

Prior to the third generation, Colorado's weren't even on my radar.

Also as another user pointed out, the existence of the Maverick is screwing new Ranger owners by nature of cost competition internally.

Chevy & Toyota don't have to worry about this glaring problem.

The other problem with new Ranger is outside the Raptor, all the components and configurations are roughly they same. The Colorado offers WT/Z71 standard suspension, Trailboss +2", ZR2 +3", and Bison +4". Then each of those models have their various doo-dads and specifications and each model has a targeted "idea" for a buyer. Commute/Work/Towing, Off-Road, Off-Road +1, and Off-Road +2.

You also have a wide range of tire options ranging all the way to 35" from the factory.

Sure you can modify even a base model vehicle into a fun mobile, but I suspect the average buying is more as a buy-as-is then a DIYer/modder.
When I was 18 it was all about Ford vs xxxxx or Imports vs Muscle but man, I just dont care anymore. Unless they pay my bills, I don't care about the badge. I care about value, performance and customer service most. I have gotten that way with t-shirts too lol. Why spend $30-40 to do a brands marketing. I just like simple tiny logos as most now. Dang, I broke 40 and this is what happens lol

One thing working as a Benz tech in my younger years, never mind the dealer saw us as replaceable tools, but at least then Benz tried to take care of the clients. They set the bar high for me (Plus Penske training us in the Dale Carnegie course when hired). I hate getting mediocre service.

I am not brand loyal either and never will be..."best bang for the buck" is my focus. I learned that as a young adult after I started buying vehicles and other goodies. I'm a T-Shirt guy and like Gildan T-Shirts because they are inexpensive, fit and look great...no sagging neckbands... :like:

Totally agree about wearing clothing or driving a vehicle that has a brand name plastered all over it. If they don't want to pay you for being a billboard, they can keep it. If you could only get vehicles without the manufacturers logos.

The first thing I did when I got home with my Ranger was to remove the dealership license plate frame. ??

Don't know any dealership that doesn't have Pinocchio ? working at the service counter with someone else pulling his strings.

Result is poor service.??‍?

I saw a 6G Ranger for the first time today... Wasn't really feeling it. I like the way the 5G looks better, which I always thought from seeing pictures of the 6G.

We have a Maverick as well. I actually like it and we drive it more. It's a small truck by todays standards, but I don't think its all that small. If it could tow the same weight as the Ranger, I probably would not have a Ranger. The Toyota on the right... My parents bought new in 1985. I used to sit in the middle before I got too big and rode in the back with the cap. The Maverick is a good bit bigger.

No doubt there is a place for the Mav in the truck market. Unibody trucks are still trucks to me, just have different limitations.

I know the Ridgeline gets a lot of hate but there are some modded ones to be quite capable and you know what? They have much nicer interiors than the Ranger. This is what bugged me, I was REALLY hoping the new Ranger would get an interior size increase but it is basically the same size as the 5G Ranger. My wife always compares the size against our Honda Pilot ugg. I can't afford a F150 Raptor with good conscience so the Ranger Tremor isn't going anywhere.

Check out this Ridgeline if curious about what I mean....

Here we go again, why isn't it bigger or maybe nicer, or a bigger engine. This mentality is why the Ranger is basically the same size as an F150 from a few generations back. The F150 is like and older SuperDuty. The SuperDuty is like I don't know what. They brought back the Maverick name to be what the original Ranger use to be. As far as interior room you can't have more without make the outside bigger. I don't think anyone has developed the "TARDIS" yet. ? So, if you want a bigger interior, buy a full size truck and live 24/7 with and all that comes with it. For the wife and I, the Ranger is the perfect size right now. Don't change it! It tows my camper just fine, still fits in my garage, and I can live with it day to day. The only reason I traded my 2011 XLT was to get the towing capacity otherwise I loved that 4G.

Had a 2011 4.0 myself and really liked it...

Guilty as charged. And not even ashamed. :giggle:

Must give Honda credit though. Less chance of buyers remorse. Bought an Accord and find yourself thinking "Dang it! I should have bought the Ridgeline!" No problem. Grab your ratchet and the appropriate socket and remove the Accord's trunk lid. Takes all of five minutes and BOOM! Instant Ridgeline!

I had the 5-speed auto tranny. What I don't miss is the rear jump seats.

The early Supercab jumpseats (1986) fold down so you sat transversely. The rear panel was fixed until the 1999 4G (first compact PU to have Supercab doors)- beating Toyota by about 38 years!

Actually that is the problem, the Ranger is not where the F150 used to be. Go back 20yrs and the F150 still had a larger interior than a 5g or 6g ranger.

Ford has the Mav for the tiny trucks now, a small bump in the Ranger's interior would be welcome by me at least. If I had Donald Duck money, it would be easy. I would keep the Ranger and just buy a larger tow vehicle but I am not quite there yet. All I need to do is make more money I guess :)

I wanted to add regarding the price of the Raptor- yeah, it’s steep, but the Taco turd pro starts at 65k. So it’s a bargain compared to the turd.
