I had the exact opposite at 20k. Both diffs & transfer case were grey, they were so full of metal dust. The magnets had so much on them they were unable to collect any more.
I bought my Ranger used and changed all three fluids the day after I bought it. I'm guessing the previous owner served it some hot suppers. I seem to be the only owner who's discovered this.

Yes changed both my front and rear diffs at about 100,000 km ie ~ 60,000 miles. Front was still like new with a tiny bit of metal mud on the magnet, rear was actually somewhat dirty with quite a bit of mud on the magnet but no chips or shiny bits.
I changed the transfer case oil a bit earlier because the seal was weeping and I thought that I would try Max Life before replacing it. The transfer case oil was actually quite dirty at about 90,000 km which surprised me a bit. Which means I might change it every 50,000 km now. Anyway the Max Life worked and the weep slowed and eventually stopped, and hasn't come back.

Mis using the Locker is probably the main cause to the fluid looking like such. Keep that up and you can expect to see the rear end grenade on you.
I don't see how that's any more abusive than rocking and bouncing a rear tire rock crawling. From what I've seen the drive shafts or tie rods break before anything else when bouncing the front. Haven't seen a rear do anything. A slight spin then hook an go seems mild compared to repeated bouncing holding the weight of the vehicle up, trying to pull it then hooking an slipping over and over.

Anyway my ranger is gone an my Bronco holds it spot. I miss the ranger, it was more fun to drive IMO but the Bronco moves people better an that's what I've been doing more of.

The way an E-Locker is designed, it is meant to take a certain type of load which is a slow and controlled load when OffRoad. If you are having to "Bounce off Rocks" with a locker then clearly you have an issue with driving habits. Using a locker to do burnouts and get extra traction on pavement is how you grenade them.

Changed the rear diff and tcase in my 22 Tremor at 3200 miles and just under 3 months old . Rear diff was black with heavy fuzz and some small flakes on the magnet. Tcase was dark red with light fuzz. Front diff was like new.

I'm not having them I don't do any hard off road stuff. I'm just referring to the thousands of videos on youtube an the bronco forums. I assume the rocking an bouncing is all bad technique but it seems people panic an don't want to roll back down an start over.

There was a member I think it was Doc in Fla that was chasing 11's in a 2wd with Elocker an he used it on a prepped track an if I remember right he had like 90K on the truck. Without slicks I doubt it breaking since traction breaks before anything else.

Another thing that came to mind, no idea if your US market Rangers have the same front differential as ours do, but check the Ford factory fill volume on the front differential. Ours are only 800ml, not the full 1200ml of oil. If you fill it full, it throws oil out of the breather and makes a massive mess.
