Just curious if I were to install BDS intrusion beams would 285's work on a stock wheel and suspension setup? Just until my lift get's ordered in a couple months?

Not sure of the width of stock wheels but 285/70-17 should be mounted on 9" wide wheels...that's what mine are mounted on...

At this time that I am aware of the ONLY tire you can fit in that size on the stock wheel without doing anything is the Firestone Destination XT. All others will rub too much if you dont get a 1/4 inch wheel spacer up front or change to the OZ Rally Raid wheels.

Or any other wheel with our lug pattern and a more negative offset. Why only mention one wheel???

The reason i only mention that one wheel is due to the offset of that one wheel. The offset of that particular wheel is equivalent to putting a 1/4 inch wheel spacer on. As for all other wheels you have to modify the fender well area. If you dont want to modify then those are your options.

That’s simply not true. Please leave forum members to the wealth of information that’s here. I know you’re fairly new to this community so please try to avoid spreading misinformation. Many wheels, including the fuel shok that myself and a multitude of forum members are running, will work with no modification to the fenderwell.

We installed 285 70 17 all terain sailun tyres on original raptor Ford ranger rims.

Van looks great and rides perfect.

No issues at all....

Will black out the door handles and side mirrors this week.

I have 285/70R17’s on stock wheels no spacer with 3.5 BDS kit. If you are turning and go over heavy bumps they rub the spindle. I almost 7000 miles on it like that and only rubbed a couple times. Looking to get aftermarket wheels someday

Did you have to adjust speedo? If so, what method did you use?

You'll need the lift for 285's, minimum spacers for front needed

I will state that spacers are only required with "Most" tires. I have 285/70-17 Firestone Destination XT's and I did not beed spacers.
