25k miles and the brakes are having issues

Well, as of last Thursday, they had my rotors in and accidentally sold them to someone else.

So to compensate they got my a new F-150 Tremor. ?‍ Better than the new Escape they had me driving for about a month.

but from what i was told when i talked to them in person to get the new rental, they would have my truck fixed today and that "everything will be covered and ready to get on Friday, but i can keep the rental over the weekend and enjoy it"

I'm just absolutely ready to have mt Ranger back and have it stop like it should...finally.


So, what i've been told, they replaced the rear slides on the calipers for the rear since the calipers are on back order. they replaced all 4 rotors, and the pads in the rear and also covered all the labor.


We'll see what they actually do in the end and if they make this right or if they plan to screw me over somehow.

Sounds like if they get the rotors in, you'll be good to go. I had the frozen caliper/trashed rotor issue early on, but thought I had just worn my pads quickly. My idiot self didn't realize that I could have gotten it all taken care of through warranty until I had it all apart and saw what the real problem was, and by then it was all apart, so I just fixed it and put it back together! LOL

I'm still running that stuck (now unstuck) caliper and have no issues with it.

How did you get it unstuck? And it was rear or front?

I am having an issue with my driver front having hot spots on the rotor and getting dirty quicker than the others, can also feel it during hard braking

Mine was the driver's rear. To unstick it, I used the caliper wind back/press tool back and forth in both directions. Once it was broke free, it was good to go and has worked from that day forward.

I'm wondering if your sliders are buggered?

Will check sliders, pads, rotor, caliper. Noticed it when I was putting in my Kings a few weeks back and has gotten worse slowly to where I noticed it this past weekend

To follow up on all of this. They covered it all.

4 new rotors, they fixed the rear caliper slides, and replaced the old pads in the rear. Picked it up and it had a wobble at first, but then it worked itself out, but the front driver's side rotor is new, but they told me that the pads on the front were fine and didn't need to be replaced.

But now i have this small issue, the pad apparently isn't seated properly and not touching the full face of the rotor. It is going back today to get that fixed. They also dropped one of my wheels on something and put a gash in it. so things are going well. lol

Not really. The entire pad is already contacted the rotor as it is. There's many vehicles that are like this unfortunately.

Ahh... the dealership informed me that this is odd and that they want to have it back to look it over. the odd thing is all the other new rotors are completely covered and the front driver's side is the only one with this "donut" issue on the rotor.

I will drop it off next Tuesday for them to check that rotor and to hopefully fix the damage on the wheel

Passenger side rotor is brand new and the pad touches the full face...

And the driver's side with the pad only touching that small worn part of the face of the rotor

Doesn’t look right. You should be able to get a small mirror and see the pad on the rotor.

I am thinking one of (2)
The outer pad was not seated properly and tilted.
Or
The rotor was machined wrong, take a micrometer measurement, I bet the difference is noticeable.
I am curious if the I/B side ls the same wear

Ford has the truck again and they are working on the rotors and pads.... and have to ship the damaged wheel up to KC for them to be repaired up there since they are machined wheels and can't do that work locally.

So hopefully i get the truck back today or tomorrow.

Got the truck back and the rotor is still not fixed and looking like the others, not even sure that they looked or fixed the pads on that side.

Got the wheel fixed at least, but i might just get new pads for the fronts and swap them out and call it a day. Any suggestions for new aftermarket front pads? lol
