GM finally released the numbers on the new L4B

2027 Colorado Power Increase

After driving quite a few of the ZR2 variants, I'm going to be watching this closely.

Can't wait to drive one and see if the power increase can be felt.

Mainly want to see if it makes me want a 2027 model or to look for a deal on a 2026 closeout.

I've actually already done that comparison, and I surprised myself as much as anybody by liking the ZR2 better.

If I get a new vehicle, it WILL have ventilated and cooled seats.

No oil dipstick- is just asking for issues- Where is the protection from Over/ Under Fill if the sensor is skewed?
Drain and Refill -with a known quantity?
Digital gauges I understand but should always have a manual way to check levels.
I have a coworker who just bought a new Ram- I will ask if he has a dipstick in his.
Very strange that they are doing this, benefits the dealers as more customers will come in for a simple oil change as owners will be nervous about doing a simple DIY job or panic after the oil is drained not realizing they do not have a dipstick- I can see this being a common issue.
I do not agree with this in any way at all.

I don't care for the No Dipstick aspect at all.

However, if I get one it will be from the local Chevy dealer that has lifetime powertrain warranty.

And since my driving will equal 1 oil/filter change per year, getting it done at the dealer so that everything is documented is not really an issue.

The no dipstick thing seems to befuddle even the techs. Lots of inputs on various forums and Facebook from hurricane owners that got their truck back with a sensor reading low. It seems simple, but has ended up being a great annoyance for owners.

I personally would only want an engine with a dipstick. Digital gauge is fine. Dipstick backup is required for me.

I didn’t realize the Colorado was on the 8 speed transmission. That’s nice. One of the variants is on the 10 speed tho? That one would scare me.

Colorado/Canyon is keeping the 8 speed.

The Silverado is getting the 10 speed.

If you don't have a dipstick (even a stupid tiny dipstick like the 10R80 does) - how in the hell are you supposed to know how much to put in when changing fluids? I know the capacities stated in manuals did not necessarily fill the engine up to the full mark. Solely relying on volume seems like a poor way to change fluids - unless it is a "put back in what you took out) - which means you will have to use a transfer pump instead of a drain plug.

I would NEVER knowingly buy a vehicle without a dipstick. If/when we go to purchase another vehicle, it will be something I will be looking for - which seems weird.

Maybe no dipstick supplied.....but, maybe there will be a hole that you can dip your own stick into.....as long as your own stick is long enough........

I see this increased removal of things one uses to self maintain slowly moving in the direction of automakers having the sole right to repair.
