Been looking at the APG conversions and day dreaming, and just today I was thinking how cool it would be to switch the rear axle to a wider and bigger axle so you don't need wheel spacers on the rear....and while I'm at it solid axle on the front. Excited to see how your build turns out while I wait for a Lotto ticket for my day dream build. Great pics

Nice work! Any plans to do a bigger T-case? I know there isn't a ton of room under these things, but an Atlas 2-speed with a manual shifter would really tie this in nicely, if it mates to the 10-speed. You could do a divorced t-case if not, and make the rear shaft a one-piece. Our experience with the Ranger carrier bearing is that is absolutely sucks lol.

Interested in seeing how the PSC hydro-assist box fits under there, and the up/down travel you're able to get with the oil pan clearance.

Keep up the great work, man. While we do a ton of these long travel IFS builds, we're born and bred crawler guys with a lot of experience building SFA rigs. If you need some sexy carbon fiber to clear 40's, let us know. Our panels are 5" wider overall than the stock fenders and bedsides. ;)

Thanks for the feedback and kind words.
As for now, no plans to change the tcase, I was hoping with the 4.91 first gear, 2.73 tcase and 4.88 gears it would be manageable, but I really like your thought process with a divorced Atlas and get rid of the super long rear shaft.
I will definitely be running in to up-travel issues, I am hoping to cycle the suspension soon and set up some speed bumps.
I spent a lot of time last night trying to shoehorn the steering box on the inside of the frame rail and determined it just isn't going to happen. I'm now looking in the direction of a Toyota pickup IFS box with the trail gear hydro assist kit.

Most likely going to go with a toyota steering box from trail gear as well as the hydro assist kit from trail gear. Going to try out a jeep jl electric power steering pump for the system, appears to have enough psi and volume to run it.

You'll have better luck with that 86-95 Toyota box. And the hydro-assist will make the wheel just as easy to turn as stock I think. The frames on those trucks are just as wide as the new Ranger's, with a narrow body and wheel mounting surface. The fit nicely on the outboard, as long as you can get the right size drop pitman arm to clear the frame and keep your drag link/track bar somewhat parallel. That'll help cut down on the wobble and bumpsteer too!

Lookin' good man!

Thanks! That was in line with my thought process.

Was able to get a break in the weather this week and make some progress after work.
I ended up going with the entire trail gear steering kit. I modified/ removed the front impact bar. I plan on boxing in the body mount. The Toyota IFS box has the pitman arm facing back which requires the box to be all the way forward. The kit came with frame reinforcement plates intended for use on pickups, but they came in handy on my project. This weekend I'll build the drag link and and then start on a track bar bracket to keep the geometry parallel.
