Progress is going to be on hold for a couple weeks. I can't afford to heat my hangar in these temps!

Don't blame you for putting that on hold for a while. Stay warm!

I procrastinated that job waaay longer than I should have. I really worked it up to be something huge in my head. It was pretty easy in all actuality. I still have to test it, but voila I have a pneumatic transfer case.

Well it took a few more iterations than that for the pneumatic transfer case to work. Between degrees of freedom and clearance from the body I had to do another iteration on each. But we're done now and in business!

Transfer case has been re-installed. While it was out I did a parking brake upgrade. The disco parking brake is actually on the rear output of the transfer case and is a drum brake. I found a disc brake conversion for this which is great to not deal with a drum brake I've lost most of the parts for. Now the quality of the kit kind-of sucked. I had to do a fair bit of clearancing.

Transfer case is 'back' in after getting the transmission cables hooked up. I can now row through all my gears 🥂. Yay Bronco transmission!

Tom Woods drive shafts are installed.

Next step is bleeding the hydraulic clutch, and installing the 'clutch depressed switch' underneath the clutch pedal. Then I'll install all my trail armor, for a couple reasons. A) to clean up the shop a bit B) so I know how to route lines etc around the armor. Then onto engine air/water/exhaust!

Trail armor is going on. Got the diff guards, front bumper fully bolted, and the steering guard. The steering guard front mount interfered with the bumper so I did some trimming and welded it directly to the bumper, which will beef everything up nicely.

I need to do some trimming for the factory hitch for clearance on the rear bumper and fuel tank skid plate. But it's coming along. Starting to become real beefy :).

More eye candy. Fuel tank skid plate is on, rear bumper is on (took WAY more work than it should have), ladder is mounted, roof rack is mounted, and the rock sliders are in place... just need to drill some holes to get them wrapped up.

All that's left is my bumper mounted tire carrier, which has been ready to ship for like 4 weeks but still hasn't come out... hopefully didn't get scammed there.

I've got a change in strategy coming, I'm trying to get one of my planes on amphibious floats, so I will want the hangar space back. I'm working on getting the rover to first start as a priority, and ignoring power steering, A/C, compressed air and a few other things so I can get it to my garage at home. So it's almost time to get into an engine plumbing sprint.

But hey I can walk on the Rover now... so I consider that good motivation.

DON'T DO IT!
DON'T JUMP!

We wanna see the end of this awesome project!!!!
I'm so so close to first start. Really it's just routing air to the engine thats the last "hurdle" that will take any real time. The ecoboost has PCV on both sides of the engine, and the BOV, and the MAF sensor will take a bit to get all sorted, not to mention the intercooler is hard to plumb to.

Coolant is suuuper easy. Same line size and position and everything. I basically get to keep that stock.

Exhaust isn't so bad, I'm going to have it pop out ahead of the rear tire for simplicity.

Fuel is a few fittings.... then I get to look into electrical.

I'll finish up A/C and power steering later. Life will still make it slow... but the end is totally in-sight.
