Using a power bank while parked ? Our Dometic warms up pretty quick once the power is off.

Don’t fight the urge lol. We bought one about 6 months ago. We use it all the time. It’s great for Softball Tournaments. We use it weekly going to our neighbors to hangout. I installed the Wolfhouse 12v bed adapter in the bed. It makes it even more practical. Good for cold groceries also. I have several of the big Ryobi batteries and use the with the 120 AC converter to run it a lot of the time.
I might have other use cases for something like that Andy. Which Ryobi batteries? 60v, 40v? Do you get much run-time?

I originally bought mine for our first long trip (5 weeks) and didn’t think I’d unit much after that. Boy was I wrong! I use mine weekly since getting it 4 years ago and just leave it in the back seat now. Like Sid it comes in really handy for grocery runs so now you don’t have to rush back home to put everything away. Of course it was really handy while moving as we were able to take anything we had in the fridge and made lunches so we don’t have to stop and eat all the time.

I also have a Bluetti power station I use with it. This comes in really handy when we’re on vacation and out hiking ( or shopping) and can keep all our drinks and snacks cold. Now I might buy a smaller one just for the times where we make day trips because mine is big and takes up 2/3 of the back seat.

I know ill find use for it outside of camping, chilled drinks in the garage, maybe for kids games have icey pops and ice cream. Im confident it will get tons of use.

Just trying to decide on the right size. We've been using an RTIC 52Q cooler, its served us well for 3 night / 4 day trips and if we go longer than that well likely resupply. Im thinking a 35L / 37Q should be a good equivalent when you factor out all the ice volume. With the 5' bed a decked system, huge canvas tent, camping and recovery gear, space is always an issue and carrying it in the cab wont work with a car seat and a dog.

I have a setpower 37qt, and a 15qt. And 2 of their battery packs. I use the 15 qt in the back seat for trips and the 37qt in the bed. If they are at temp the batteries will run them overnight in the truck. I really have had good luck with these 2. Now with that said I recently purchased an aj30 from them and received 2 defective ones in a row and had trouble getting them returned and refunded. So at this point I can't recommend them anymore.

They are the 18 volt batteries. I have 2 of the 12ah batteries. I use them in the Ryobi 120v converter. If it’s summer and in the shade I can get about 4hrs maybe less out of one. I have 6ah batteries also. Last weekend it was only 70 and it ran for 6hrs and didn’t even use an entire 6ah battery. But generally I just plug it into my generator at the ball field. When I go to the neighbors I put it in a beach wagon. It’s 50/50 plugging it in outside at there house or using the batteries.

The one I have is 37qt. It’s not very big but holds a decent amount. I’ve thought about getting one of the power stations for when I want to run fans and the cooler without using my generator at the ball field. Sometimes we’re there 12hrs or more😳 but when I start running low on charged batteries I just charge them in the truck. 4 of our friends have bought electric coolers after seeing ours lol.

The power station comes in real handy when we're out hiking or visiting National Parks. I can go all day with mine and still have 20-30% left at the end of the day depending on the outside temps. lol Many of my friends and neighbors have also bought one since seeing mine. They're so much better and convenient than having to buy ice and have soggy food or if you're camping and there's no stores around for miles.

Bought the DT 45 earlier this year.
Went to finally use it for thanksgiving to defrost the birds in.
Plugged into the house power, got the app set up and running. Set the temp to 37 degrees F.
The app for a few hours showed both sides at 18F yet the app temp setting showed 37F. Neither side felt like it was 18F.
I did not "pre chill" (forgot") Put the frozen birds in it. The unit would not be reading the temp of the birds, would it?
Wanted to run this by you all that have setpower units, especially @AzScorpion

More than likely it is ready the temp of the bird. Even though the fridge is set to 37 the bird is frozen solid and that temp will register as its the fridge temp. Once it's defrosted (or starting to defrost) you should see the temp rising to your set temp.

You could always take the bird out for a little while, leave the top of the fridge open to stabilize the temp then close the lid. These cool down fast (usually about 20 minutes) so you should see your set temp of 37 register fairly quickly.

I totally forgot to precool it. In a rush and kind of excited to try it out.
I'm going to give it a try again just trying with a precool and see what happens

Frozen items chill the fridge, the thermostat reads that temp, and won’t run the compressor until the temp goes up and beyond your set temp. My Iceco JP50 does this too. Also, temps at the top are never as cold. We set ours to 37. Multiple 2 week offroad camping trips, this and a Jackery have made a lot of difference in our outdoor adventuring.
