I bought my Ranger new in October of 2020. After 5 great years with no real issues or even going to the dealership for a single warranty issue today it hit 100,000 miles. I tow my boat frequently, haul fire wood, Drive down rutted out dirt roads all the time, go through mud holes and so far so good! I must have got one built on a Wednesday after the workers got a bonus lol. I don’t abuse the Ranger but if anyone should have issues I think I would be in the top 5% with all the truck stuff I do with it. Here’s to hopefully another trouble free 100k miles. Hopefully the tranny and blender door don’t know I wrote that šŸ˜‚.

Awesome… 100k in 5 years and little to no issues is very impressive.
On a Wednesday after a bonus check🤣.
I’ll probably hit 100k by summer of 2027.
I'll be later than that getting to 100K. Haven't hit 50K yet on my '21.

pretty trouble free... over two years I may have sunk $500 into it
this month 17mpg sucks! could be the season change or the change over to winter gas mix

just rolled over 87k in my 2019. notable issues were:
- clutch fan hose deteriorated, fixed for ~$15 in o'reilly's parts
- bucking/surging epidemic, swapped the sensor for ~$40 and i have a spare sensor after accidentally ordering 2
- HVAC box warped, Ford covered most and i paid ~$900, but as a gesture of good will they gave me a maintenance plan for 15 oil changes at a ford dealer (easily worth at least $900 in value)

those were the main issues.. from there i'm dealing with all the crappy supplier parts the 2019s had:
- paint peeling on the metal rails on the roof of the cab -- i just taped off the surrounding area, sand the metal rail, and hit it with black rustoleum
- center console glove box lid has the faux leather cover failing and peeling off.. i need to order a new lid (it's only $125 or so), but i have no idea how to install it... need to look into this.
- conductive strips on the rear window defroster peeled away and the defroster is not functional anymore.. local window shop is sending a mobile unit to replace the entire rear window (only way to fix it) tomorrow -- $500

i have been hunting around for a full size truck just because i'd like the extra capacity, but they're a bit too expensive and dealers/manufacturers play their games. i know the trucks can be sold for less, but that's just not what's being offered right now.

i like my ranger waaay too much to get gooned by a dealership. so i've kept it.

i've long referred to my transmission as "quirky" but as the temps have dropped here in the midwest, this truck is just happy as a clam. i was born in 87, it has 87k miles, and is driving superbly. seems like a good omen. maybe it's just time to swap in an upgraded suspension (still on the stock fx4's) and just love this truck as long as she'll take me.

besides, even if the truck fails mechanically, it's still cheaper than a $50k+ truck that isn't any more reliable than the ranger (toyota - engine main bearings; fords - sketchy 10R80s; GM - forgot how to make v8's AND even sketchier 10L80s; RAM - ... just RAM things).

thanks for the post OP. i enjoy seeing folks report in on the positives. it helps me keep going with my ranger!
