She seriously thought her 3800 Buick engine was let her out run my tuned Ranger?!? No. LOL I got close enough for my son to get a good picture and then backed off as she was being very wreckless in her fleeing attempt. Once I had the picture of the plate/car and driver description I had all I needed for the police report.
Also, a little more details, the police didn't find her, they found the car and confirmed the damage that would be consistent with having run into my hitch. But, no one would answer the door to them where they found the car parked. I got the Driver Exchange form from the police this afternoon. It added the vehicle owner information as well as the VIN and home address. With that I googled the most common to least common insurers in the state the car is tagged. Started "cold calling" them with the limited info and had to ask if they hold the policy for that car. Ding! USAA, and I got the policy number, filed a claim against the car's owner's policy.
Well, my gas tank used to hold $60 worth of gas. Now it holds $80, how 'bout that!I stopped by the gas station and put $40.00 worth of 87 in it.
I'm still hoping that something can be done about them fleeing the scene.
Same, but as long as their insurance pays for the little in damages there are I'll at least not feel like the system is screwing me over the way it normally feels.
I wonder who is the veteran to have that insurance policy?
My initial hunch is a relative of the veteran was driving.
That is my assumption as well, the driver looked close to my age at a glance, maybe a little older. The owner is a few months older than my mom. Gonna suck for him to find out about how the car is being using this way, because I doubt they (the driver of the car) called to tell him either.
He will discover it when his premium magically increases on its own.
He should learn way before then if the adjuster is doing their job right and attempting to contact all parties involved. Since the driver is currently unknown, the owner should be their first point of contact.
