yes, if you look at my avatar it's the ford image of my truck, which has a silver lower bumper--but the real truck doesn't

This thread came to mind when I was washing my truck.

My Lariat fx4's lower bumper is not silver but body colored (L. Blue) as well. I wonder what determines this actually. I kinda like the silver part.

I was curious too on the height differences between the FX4 and non option 4wd trucks and I found the FX4 is about a inch taller, one was 3/4, same wheel and tire size. That’s not much to even say they are higher IMO. The 2wd’s FX option are about the same too.

I can't figure it out either. You have a Lariat, we have a XL. Both with the FX-4 package. Shop.Ford shows they both would have silver lower front bumper valances, yet neither do?

It seems like that silver piece is only on the Sport Appearance Package trucks. I could be wrong though but that’s the only place I’ve noticed it.

Ours is an XL STX FX4 too. The lower front valance panel is painted Magnetic like the truck?

I've got a lightning blue supercab. I just went to look at the truck and then turned on the phone app. Sure enough, my preview truck image is wrong too. I was thinking you were talking about the exposed plate below the tow hooks but you're actually talking about the piece above the tow hooks... Mine is magnetic rather than silver.

I know the sport appearance package is definitely not required for FX4. Mine is a Lariat with FX4 but no sport appearance package. I think it is a very common combination however.

No. I ordered FX4 but specifically did not want the sport appearance. It's really common on dealer orders (a little extra money).

My XLT is FX4 and does not have a silver one even though Ford site showed it would and stock photos from the dealer showed it.
