The tailpipe diameter is 2.5 “ muffler diameter is the same..I had a shop do it here, took them 10 minutes and $80.00 out the door...It sounds exactly the same as my wife’s 2020 HPP mustang (active exhaust) on cold start. What size is the ranger exhaust? 2.5”?

Actual tailpipe exit is 3”. Muffler Inlet and outlet are 2.76” and 3”. They are kind of tricky the way they come out. That’s why I opted for the Apollo. Makes it solid 3” for endless possibilities with a straight through or center in center our muffler. What size is the ranger exhaust? 2.5”?
Thank you for the correction, I just did a quick tape measure check, my old eyes are not thatActual tailpipe exit is 3”. Muffler Inlet and outlet are 2.76” and 3”. I just knew because I put an old MBRP 3” tip on it before I changed to the AFE setup. I measure it out when I was looking at options! When I did the varex variable muffler on my 17 5.0 F150 I ran into the same thing.Thank you for the correction, I just did a quick tape measure check, my old eyes are not that
great..

Hmm.. so what size would it be if you cut it flush on either side of the muffler?Actual tailpipe exit is 3”. Muffler Inlet and outlet are 2.76” and 3”. They are kind of tricky the way they come out. Adding pictures to show what I mean-
inlet with factory clamp showing how it steps down
outlet showing it’s step out.
you can get away with 3” piping or muffler for replacement, it just takes some messing with it. My 17 5.0 was the same way

That’s where it’s wonky, because a 2.75” would probably be perfect, but a 2.5” or 3” pipe could be made to work if you’re welding in pipe. If you want to clamp it on....Maybe a 2.5”Hmm.. so what size would it be if you cut it flush on either side of the muffler?

Ok I just re measured the muffler cuts flush, one end is 2.5”, the other end is 2.25” these are ID measurements.Hmm.. so what size would it be if you cut it flush on either side of the muffler?
You are the man! Thanks guys. I have a leftover 2.5” piece but it’s only 20” long and that huge muffler is 23” so I’m gonna go to the exhaust shop tomorrow and either get a piece and do it myself or if he wants to do it for cheap enough then have them do it.Ok I just re measured the muffler cuts flush, one end is 2.5”, the other end is 2.25” these are ID measurements.
