This dude has a nice layout, tor a tacoma... ?

Seriously though, the more I look into rooftop tents, the more I lean towards a topper like the topo topper, or lone peak...
That rig is an expensive setup for sure...probably heavy too...I'm still tinkering with the idea of fabbing up an ultra lightweight honeycomb shell that I designed years back...

I bet if he left half the firearms and ammo home it could cut a hundred pounds... ?

AI?
I ain’t never seen it on the internet. Saw it on my drive home from work and I left my ai goggles at home. It’s parked at an auto body shop and the dude did it in his spare time he said. Wants 38,500 for it but it looks mint. He said the only thing he had to do besides extend the bed and weld on the frame extension was unloop the cables. All the stock cables and lines fit the extra bed length.

Hummm, I would have guessed a longer driveshaft that would not wabble or vibrate; stability control programing (maybe) to account for the different geometry of the the truck;... frankly, most braking/antiskid/stability stuff computer controlled would need to be adjusted to some degree. If not, his liability if it all goes wrong would be bankruptingly high.

But a couple years ago a member asked Why?? IMO, the why is because the 5 foot box is just too damn short. My 2005 extended cab with the swing out doors and six foot box is more functional that the crew cab 5 foot box 5G Ranger... I did not appreciate that when I bought it... like the 4 doors, for sure, but even a simple Costco or Home Depot run can max out that box with stuff that still needs to go somewhere (yes, back seat but often not as easily). I did not want a F-150 size truck, the Ranger looked BIG enough compared to the 2005, but turns out not in as useful a way.

For me too. I just discovered that Toyota & Nissan still does crewcab with long bed. If Ford made Ranger crewcab with 6ft bed, say FX4, I'd choose that over Ranger Raptor given a choice(not that I can afford the Raptor lol).

Roof top this & that, taller canopy, etc. sounds interesting, but I also prefer to park in garages at events & I don't think I'd be able to do that if mine was any taller.

why is it a death trap?
Some random person cut the frame and extended it. I would not trust it unless it was from a very reputable shop and cost at least $20k. For them to sell it at that price after dumping money into it makes me wonder. If you have ever lengthen/shortened/modified a frame then you know what is required.

This is sketchy enough on a pre 2000s truck. Did he properly extend everything, or is it just patched together. The right way would be new brake lines, not extended ones. New fuel lines, ect.
