Any increase in intake noise? I would not hate a bit of turbo whistle :)

LB
Funny you bring that up.. Windows up I don't hear anything. Tonite on my way home from riding my bike I had the windows down as it was a cool night. I heard a little whistle... So i floored it and it got a tiny bit louder.... I got home much faster this evening. Lol

Hmmm. I thought they stopped making them.
They did stop making them. I got it used. Though if you seen it you would think it's never been installed. The seller thoroughly cleaned the inlet and mishimoto intake before shipping it to me. I honestly felt like I just bought new parts.

Finally put on the new wipers on and installed the engine and cabin filters as well. Easy peasy.

Curious if the glove box damper is another one of the "deleted items"? I knew where the cabin filter was so I opened the glove box all the way to access it. Then I wasn't sure how to open the access cover and I didn't want to break anything so I watched a quick vid on youtube. The guy says the first thing you need to do it disconnect the cord on the damper....wait what hold up? I figured maybe the last time I was in for service, the lube tech forgot to re-attach it. Went and got a flashlight, nope, not there. In the vid the guy said his Ranger was a 2020. No matter, installed the filter and moved on.

I order them from Scamazon for the Ranger and the CRV and keep them in stock here at the shack. I write the date in the edge with a felt tip pen. Dealer wants like $76 to change a $20 filter. The same filter for the CRV is $10.

At my 52K oil change, I had the coolant flushed and replaced ( not drain and fill).
I had coolant flush and replaced at 70k and 124k. Going to look at hoses next service since they got 150k on them. Probably ok but gonna look anyway.
Brake system flush and fluid upgrade at 95k and 144k.
Fuel system flush and plugs at 60k and 120k.
Transmission flush and fluid change at 90k.
Complete underneath fluid change at 90k and 150k.
Engine oil and filter every 5k.
Belts at 100k.
Replaced those “superbly designed“ lug nuts at 144k.
Probably overkill but at 150,000 absolutely troublefree miles, with exception of the drive shaft center bearing, it’s well worth that money and time to me.

After some initial issues getting the dash tray to come out I installed the Bulletpoint dash accessories mount.

I had the added issue of making it work with my dash/glare cover. That was a PITA. Had to take cover out and after removing and drilling the dash tray I had to mount the base plate to the tray with the cover in between. That added some time 😂.

This gear is robust. I’ll add the other phone mount for the passenger when it gets here next week.

For me it was a huge success. No cussing, didn’t break anything and it works! I’m going to have some sipping whiskey to celebrate 😂

I've had 2 dash mats in my ranger. And I learned always get black they don't glare on the windshield. Can't remember what brand I have but I've been really happy with it. It is of the molded variety.
Got it, thanks for the reply and suggestion on the color.

A fun project recently. I've been trying to find a good water solution for the camping rig and I think this will do the trick. Waterport "Overland" 5 gallon pressure tank. Add water then air it up to 40 psi and it works quite well. I moved the spare into the bed and mounted it underneath to keep it out of the sun.

That's a nice setup and I've never seen that before and just looked it up. Very reasonable priced and it looks like you can mount them on the side if you have a cap or racks with the MOLLE panel mount. Do you have to crawl under every time you need to refill it or can you fill through the supplied hose? It looks like the shower head comes off and you could fill it through there.

Edit: I should've read farther down the page, I now see there's a hose adapter they include which is nice.

Yep just connect a garden hose to the end of the supplied hose and fill up. I've messed around with it a bit and obviously the more water you have the less air volume so the pressure doesn't last as long. It's a pretty sweet little system. All of my camping is primitive so it'll be perfect for cooking water and rinsing off.

Coverking dash mat. At first I didn’t like it, but it settled in nicely and its main function of cutting glare is great! I got it after getting tint and clear ceramic tint on windshield interior. I went without it for a month after Ford left it off on a repair and difference was an actual safety issue in terms of seeing in certain lighting situations.

Swapped OEM rear shocks for Bilstein 4600s. Driver's side had some minor weeping but passenger side was nasty. Easier to get drivers side on...getting to that passenger side top nut was difficult (I dropped it), and getting the passenger side shock on was just hard (I've not much strength left to compress and hold the shock so I could get the bottom bolt in). But its done now, thank goodness. Saved $175 in labor charges doing it myself.
