Recently joined the Ranger FB group. I am surprised how much activity there is on that page that never shows up on the forum. Disappointing because I prefer the forum over the haphazard FB page.

That being said, I saw a post for someone developing an aftermarket carrier bearing for the Ranger. Looks really cool and I might snag one to try out. If I do, I will post more here. But wanted to share for others.

That looks interesting. As for f..book it's all the young people that can't read or write more than 1 or 2 sentences and their input over here would really be useless. That's why I deleted f...book from my life 8 or 9 years ago.
I did the same but I ended up making a new profile to sell my Tremor wheels and they were gone in 2 weeks. Haha

I've spent 6 mos selling mustang wheels and tires. Still can't go back. I'd rather give the stuff away then contribute to f.. book. And I have when I got p..d off with a guy lowballing on craigslist. I killed the ad, grabbed the intake manifold drove to a friends shop put it on the counter and said here. When zuckerberg admitted to swaying an election with censoring and a $40m payout for voting. I can't with any conscience go to any website he owns.

I seen that too and I am interested. Would be a lot cheaper then buying a new drive shaft.

But I was under the impression the bearing is not removable without damaging the driveshaft.

One issue with a 2 piece drive shaft is the vibration. I'm wondering how much this setup will lessen that.

Very interesting. The JXB Performance web site does not show a listing for the Ranger.
Also, it looks like a carrier bearing mount (new rubber) and not a actual bearing.
That said my 2017 XLT has a little drive shaft vibration and I believe it is the rubber in the carrier bearing.
Comments welcome.

I saw that as well and agree, this place is way better than facespacetweetgram.

Would probably be easily offended and leave as well

I read somewhere in the forum that it can be removed and reinstalled with a press and the OEM bearing is now available on its own. I recall the post saying there’d be enough work involved that it would be better just to get a complete driveshaft assembly.

I do not have a press but I have a BFH and a few cold chisels that would definitely damage the driveshaft, the bearing, and anything nearby, including my knuckles.

I did ask some questions myself and was told they will have a kit that reused the oem bearing and a kit that includes a new bearing. They are hoping to have preorders in the next month.

Here is a video from a Toyota that they have already released. The install should be the same.

I just remembered that I had this doohicky Shawn with Tom Woods Driveshaft made to try and reduce the play in the carrier bearing. I just shoved it in and figured I would see if it made any difference before I order this aftermarket unit.

Although it looks good, I question the Long-Term reliability of the design, and it holding clamping force on the bearing - granted I am only going by my initial thought of this pic and thinking how long would it take before the bolts start backing out?

IDK - First Impressions - without a deep dive into the design or long-term reliability research

I wonder if some locking washers would help with that. Plus some red locktite.
