I'm saving this. :like:

I will say the dealer I bought my truck from has treated me very well so far. But I'm still saving it incase "I get mud on the underside of my 4x4" 🤪
That would immediately void your warranty !!!!!!!!!

They dont have to be anymore. Based on the guards I've had here, the inability to critically think and connect the simplest of dots spans all hair colours, races, and sexes.
And its maddening to have to do their thinking for them.
They will someday be replaced by roBOTS, with AI programming more capable of intelligent thinking than the humans you describe. Today so many are completely lost without their cell phones, tik tok and access to TV shows like keeping up with the Kardasians.

Thanks, I am planning to call Ford corporate sometime today.

The Ford dealer service lady told me that they "saw signs of off roading"... that there was "bits of mud underneath the vehicle" and that this or having non-stock tires was the likely cause for my engine failure... seriously WTF??

I don't even take this thing off road very much and the stuff I do is mostly mellow fire roads... She kept re-iterating this off-roading point and that I should not mention that the truck had "been off road" when I call corporate...
Any chance her prior experience was with Hyundai/KIA ? They are more known for creating stupid reasons to deny warrany claims and despite inane commercials touting their off road prowess their vehicles are better suited for the pavement - smooth pavement, any irregularities or pot holes is another story altogether.

They will use any excuse they are trained to use to get out of fixing your problems. The EGR something went out on my Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi at like 17,000 miles. The punkass wannabe mechanic (and I use that term lightly) at the dealer said not covered under warranty because I had modified the engine. The only modification was a K&N cold air intake. 🤬🤬🤬

I swear, "Customer Service" (and I use that term with more salt than I've put on my sidewalk and driveway) has for the last 20-or-so years had "IT'S NOT OUR FAULT" emblazoned across every millimeter of their workspace. It's always "Delay, Deny, Defend."

They give you absolute BS and then when you call them out on it, they start accusing you of being disrespectful. Maybe if they actually did their job of "servicing the customer" instead of expecting the customer to service the company, then they'd get treated with respect.

And yes, I acknowledge that the ones who actually have to deal with the irate customers are NOT the ones who create the shit-show in the first place, either with the products or the policies.

Sorry to hear of this OP. But I’ll second this above idea. Way I see it is you have a few options:
- just trade it and take a bath of equity lost, but you get to move on.
- pay $15k to replace the engine
- pay like $20-25k for the coyote conversion (I think that’s the cost I saw once). I wonder if you can even get a manual transmission for it. But there is a company doing this conversion. What a beast of a truck this would be lol.

if ford doesn’t help out with a new engine, I wonder if you can ask for a private cash offer on a new ford vehicle to help defray the costs of a new purchase. New vehicle shopping is tough right now. No one is better than the other. Except maybe GM. I couldn’t buy a GM product, but that’s just me.
If mine went out at that mileage and Ford didn’t fix it, it would get replaced and you can bet your bottom dollar it would NEVER be a FORD again if I lived to be 100. I bought a brand new beautiful cobalt blue loaded 1995 Tacoma and it was the biggest POS I ever sat in From day one. I finally took a $4000 loss at about 12,000 miles just to get rid of that pos and will never set in one again. I know they all make garbage from time to time but that thing was horrible. On the bright side, my 2021 Ranger is ready to turn 150,000 miles and the only issue so far in December was a rear drive shaft center support bearing and I can’t complain at that mileage.
Sorry to hear about your Ranger and keep us informed of your results.

They’ll find literally any reason to blame everything else rather than admit their vehicle is faulty. Unfortunately, if your truck isn’t under warranty I doubt they’re going to work with you. It’s worth a shot to see what they’re willing to do but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
My truck was two months and 600 miles past warranty and they wouldn't work with me.

Yep, when I worked for two idiots at a Chrysler dealer many many years ago, one of the local guys bought a brand new Dodge four by four truck beautiful red and black. The 727 auto went out at exactly 12,500 miles and factory would not touch it. Needless to say he did NOT buy another Dodge.

I like to jump the medium dividers to get into a parking lot!

Naw! I wouldn't do that
I voided my warranty because I didn't slow for speed bumps...probably what killed my tranny too...

Never seen any warnings about overheating or any comments from Ford service techs about coolant leak issues etc over the past 5 years I've owned this truck..

I was putting slowly in traffic on the freeway a couple days ago and suddenly all sorts of alarms going off, jerkiness and weirdness with transmission... I hobbled to a nearby gas station and had it towed.

The dealer is telling me that the technician found coolant intrusion. Low compression on cylinder 2 and 4 - 105 psi.
The say I need a new motor which will be $14,261.29.

I'm devastated and unsure what I should do...Am I SOL? 😢

Your truck has the FX4 package, it is literally called the "Off-Road" package. What is she carrying on about?

Very sorry to hear about your troubles, it seems to be very rare to hear about our engines failing.
STALL AND DENY TACTICS…..
