Hey all,

Looking for a little leveling kit advice for a 22 Tremor. Doing a side-by-side-by-side comparison between the fordrangerlifts 2" and 3" leveling kits, the readylift 2" and 3" levels (rear blocks included), and the rough country 2.5" level. Fordrangerlifts states that his are specifically designed for the Tremor and can fit up to 33" tires without additional modifications. I even messaged him personally and got that same response. Both readylift and rough country state that their kits should not be installed with the tremor package. I should clarify that readylift only states this for the 3" kit, not the 2". And how can the rough country kit be fractionally cheaper than the others ($60)? That draws hesitation on my part. I'm just curious, does anyone know what the actual difference between each of these kits would be that would allow them to work or not with the Tremor package? I would've thought the Fox 2.0s would be the only thing in the way at first, but is it construction, shape, materials, etc.? I'm hoping to upgrade to the 3" preferably with 285/70-17 without mods and with additional rear blocks and keeping the stock wheels. Anything helpful is appreciated!

Unfortunately I haven’t. Was hoping there would be some folks on here all over this kind of thing.

This likely has to do with the existing, widely accepted limit of 3ā€ front level/lift for the Ranger - any higher and things like UCAs and CV angles could be a problem.

Theses levelling kits are basically spacers that sit between the coilover and the shock mounts.

Tremors come with coil-overs that give them roughly a 1ā€ lift to start with.

Throw in a 2ā€ lift spacer, you’re at 3ā€

Throw in a 3ā€ lift spacer, you’re at 4ā€

How are they different? Why is RC so cheap? Simply look at the online pictures of each kit and read the product information.

I understand all that and what the spacers are, but that’s exactly why I’m questioning each of them. They look the same in terms of conceptual design, but I’m wondering why some state that they’re suited for tremors or not, basically.

Well, I think what they’re saying is that the 3ā€ kit is fine for a regular Ranger and a 2ā€ kit is fine for a Tremor because they keep things in that trouble-free <\= 3ā€ zone. It’s in their area of experience because their position might be as simple as, ā€These are what we’ve tested them on.ā€

They likely also don’t want to bother testing every diff drop kit or UCA out there to determine if the 3ā€ kit is fine on a Tremor with certain combinations of aftermarket goodies. Way too much work for so few sales.

Easier and smarter for them to stick with what they know about the stock models. Besides, anyone wanting to go much bigger should have some experience with such mods or be using a shop that does - they don’t have to but I think it’s a pretty good idea.

Thanks, appreciate the insights. It makes sense too.

RC is so cheap because they certainly aren’t a Gucci brand - no one expects their products to be over-engineered or flashy. The reputations of the other two companies are on a different plane and folks expect a certain level of quality and aesthetic from them and they’re willing to pay for it.

People are much more forgiving and accepting with RC products.

Tremor owner here. 2 inch is gonna make you level. 3 inch is gonna make you squat and requires upgraded upper control arms. Most products that say does not work on tremor do in fact work for a tremor. To fit 285-70-17 with a 2 inch level you may have to remove crash bars or replace with high clearance ones depending on if on stock wheels or have a different offset. I have 0 offset and need to remove crash bars on mine.

If you are just looking to make your Tremor level a 1" lift (1/2" spacer) is what you need. I have verified that with a level on the rocker and on the frame under the cab.

All the photos of Tremors with 2" lifts I have seen are sitting nose high.

Thanks! I was planning to add 1ā€ rear blocks as well. I want to add larger tires without any other mods. I actually really like the tremor wheels so I’m not planning on needing to remove anything. I was told that would be just fine that way. If I went with the 3ā€ I know I would definitely add the rear blocks

Thanks! I mostly wanna be able to add bigger tires. I’d plan to add rear blocks regardless to avoid squatting anyway

Nice, I ended up switching out the tremor fronts and leveling puck for fox 2.5's set at 2.5 inches and added a 1 inch shackle to the back.

My Tremor has Eibach Pro-Lift in the front adjusted (by Ebach at their Corona, CA facility) to about 1.75" lift. This is about equal to, according to them, the 2.75" setting on a non-Tremor. I have Raceline wheels with +35 offset and 275-75-17 (34" x 11.5") Toto AT III tires. Crash bars are removed, fender liner trimmed and plastic waffle clearanced. (I fabricated sheet metal liners to cover all the waffles and bare fender) No rubbing a full lock/compression. No lift in the back and the clearance, fender to tire, is about 3/4" more in the rear which looks very "level" IMO.

After 3ā€ of lift on the front (from stock tremor height..so basically 4ishā€ over a basic stock ranger)..UCA’s required and you will be causing the fd axles to be at angles that will cause excessive wear.. (so slight front diff drop required imo.)
As mentioned before +2 on a tremor is +3 on a fx4..
Also if you ā€œuseā€ your truck often as a truck..
You’ll want a little rake..
Personally I’m not a fan of completely level..
Once you put 300lbs (~136kilo for our Canadian brother) in the bed you’re getting the truck to squat. With an inch rake you’ll sit level with a 300lb load.
2ā€ up front on the tremor will fit 285/70r17.. however you will slightly rub on the usual suspects under the rougher conditions (articulating, reversing at full lock, bumps at full lock, etc.)
Also I’m 3/4 a bottle deep into a cab sav and watching game of thrones with wifey.. if I made a mistake… just make fun of me and tell me what I got wrong šŸ˜…
