Might have bought it used with 120,000 miles and put 25,000-30,000 a year, who knows things like this happen and getting over 200k miles without a trans issue is still amazing!

Seriously you got 240K miles (385K Km) out of your Ranger? Any issues along the way>

All I’ve done is,
an o2 sensor
egr issue, changed valve and cooler
AC condenser
Plugs and coils
Brakes twice
New antenna( watch those low parking garages ?)
Dpf sensor
Been shifting rough for a while , started in 8th gear but got worse over time.
then within a week it got very bad.
only gear that would shift properly was 7th lol

I'm sure you will enjoy the new truck but spending $60k to save $7k seems odd.

i didn’t want to put 7k to fix it, then another $1200 for new tires , with that high mileage something else is bound to start acting up soon .
I need a reliable truck for work.sonweighed it out and figured my best option was a new mone., sell the ranger .

$8,000 CAD = $5,722.87 USD. Maybe carried som debt forward from the previous vehicle. Now it's a project truck. Someone who works on transmissions or has access to a used or remanufactured 10R80 might pick it up; still looks good on the outside.

There is a buyer for every seller.

I have an offer of 3500 from someone . Said he will just throw a new tranny in it.
going to call the guy at the transmission shop and see what he would offer.
She still looks good and runs good otherwise

What's even more odd, is owing $8k on a 6 year old truck...

Went with the 7 year plan. Should have went with 5 years.
After everything, tax ,fees , warranty , interest etc I think it totalled About 72000 .
paid off the rest today.

$8K still owed after 6 years! I got my 2020 XLT SCab Sport 4x4 with locking rear, towing package. and the high end electronics for $33K out the door.

it was about 54000 Canadian (39000 usd)
After fees , tax, warranty etc I was upwards of 72000 cad ( about 52000 usd) for the total loan
