I bought a Harley first year the M8 came out in 2017 and my 2019 Ranger Lariat, never had an issue with either one, Don't be afraid to new year models.Personally I wouldn't buy a first year run vehicle. Made that mistake a couple times (truck, motorcycle and snowmobile) and have always had issues. Not that you can avoid them (especially now post 2020) but it seems like the first year you're the test dummy. Unless there are other options or reasons I don't think the V6 alone is worth trading up for. Now if it were the Raptor I "might" consider it but there's nothing about the new 6G that makes me say "I gotta have it". If you're looking for more power I'd just tune it and call it a day.
While "technically" is was a first year model here in the US the 2019 Ranger was already out throughout the rest of the world, The US based model was designed off of those and just brought up to US standard so it really wasn't a first year run. The 2024 6G was the really the first year run for the US and from what I've heard they've been having their share of issues.I bought a Harley first year the M8 came out in 2017 and my 2019 Ranger Lariat, never had an issue with either one, Don't be afraid to new year models.

I'll stand by my words that'll I'll never buy any first year run having been burned 3+ times doing so in the past. Maybe others have been lucky but I've learned my lesson. Especially post 2020 where just about everything now seems to be of less quality and that's putting it lightly.![]()

I was wondering about that. Getting parts like you have would probably be enough for me. I don't need a sports car, but I like the feeling of power. Only problem for me is I'm not a mechanic, and not super handy with tools either. I'd have to find a reputable shop, and back in the say on my 00' Silver V6 I had a bad experience. I think the tranny would be most likely fail point, any idea on how much hp/tq the 10 speed can handle? While the new ranger raptor has a much nicer interior, without a tune it was a disappointing test drive. I have an Unleashed tune, cvf intercooler, charge pipes and downpipe, Gibson dual exhaust and my little 2.3 runs better than the stock ranger raptor. And at $60k plus a $5k adm. It wasn't worth it to me. So I upgraded to roush wheels and 33 in tires and very happy with the 22xlt. If the tranny shits I'll replace it. As a retired tech one thing is for sure, EVERY VEHICLE BREAKS!
They put it behind the twin turbo 3.5V6 which is the highest rated tow capacity of the f150's. Install a zip kit and a deep pan and drive on. I'm waiting for mine to exit warranty then I'll install those pieces that are waiting in the garage.I was wondering about that. Getting parts like you have would probably be enough for me. Could you tell me what a “zip” kit is?They put it behind the twin turbo 3.5V6 which is the highest rated tow capacity of the f150's. Install a zip kit and a deep pan and drive on. I'm waiting for mine to exit warranty then I'll install those pieces that are waiting in the garage.
Do you need a RR? If the answer isn’t I absolutely must have a RR… well you know.I am debating this very thing. Ran into a bit of money, I'm getting old and this will be my last ego vehicle, if I bought one. Just paid the truck off. Have been debating between a v6 2.7 or RR...or just more upgrade on my low mile 2020. Just got my GR Running boards installed. Ugh!
Awesome thank you.. I do have a 23’ but I’ve not looked at the build date of the trans.. also if it’s something that’ll help the 10R80 stay away from self destruction. It’s going to be a mandatory mod.. again thanks for the information.Sonnax zipkit, https://www.sonnax.com/parts/5834-zip-kit. It fixes a lot of the problems these trans have. Good luck finding one. Got mine on ebay but they are sold out
