Why bother getting a tune? Didn't the ford engineers do the BEST job ever tuning from factory? Shouldn't you keep the Ranger stock as ford knows best??

Many people have posted similar results, but a bunch of old dudes here are so quick to throw stones as soon as we mention there might be gains from a mod ?
AGREED!!!

I mean come on, we aren’t even talking about a third-party in this case!

eople saying that Ford wouldn’t leave anything on the table absolutely seem foolish when you think about the fact that Ford itself offers a performance tune!

Ummmmm is it just me or is that pretty much proof that they left power and MPG’s on the table?!

Kind of rhetorical question

and I’ll beat people to it… Why would they do that it doesn’t make sense?
- Open your mind and think
- CARB
- not everybody wants the characteristics
that would come with the increase in
MPG’s or the power
- They need to appeal to the most people
possible… Not just us maniacs!

So give me a freaking break everybody who says that. The fact that you’re on this forum is slightly confusing, as it’s meant for performance increases. The action doesn’t fit that narrative

I wash my hands… Well not so much when I’m working outside or on the truck… I might just wipe them on my pants

HP for sure… otherwise the ford performance tune wouldn’t be a thing and factory supported for 36k miles (from zero mileage.) also some have claimed they got slightly better mileage after the tune. (It all comes down to driving habits and conditions. IMO)….
… ewww CARB… California money grab that’s all it ever was…. Does nothing to improve efficiency of vehicles.
Just a pay to play scam written out and enforced. Just my opinion tho.

Man! Who cranked up the attitude dial on this thread. Must be the phase of the moon.
I hate to say it, and I’m not being snarky, but it was specifically your post and continued follow-up that set that tone.

And it wasn’t really what you said it was how you said it!

I don’t know about the whole retrograde or anything with the moon, but maybe! I mean weird things really do seem to happen on a full moon!

I don’t usually throw attitude and it only happens when somebody cheap shots me.

I just wasn’t the only one who took issue, which is why it kept on going.

They were just some smart ass remarks, so they were returned in-kind. (I SHOULD just brush it off, as I’m better than that, so it’s time for me to act like it).

You and I should specifically bury the hatchet!! I’m past it and we probably have more in common than not.

I apologize to the whole forum for being part of this confrontational thread!!

You and everyone are A-OK/good people and are big motivators and idea generators!!

I appreciate you and everyone else on the forum! I truly do! ? (this is the best emoji I can think of for appreciation)

All my best,
Kyle

Preach, brother! I promised that I was going to be positive with everybody, but that doesn’t count for the state of California, in which I am admittedly a resident.

I am in Northern California, therefore we are much more similar in our mindsets and probably are as irritated with the policies and mindset of those who reside in the LA metro area and the San Francisco metro area.

Anyways, since I can’t do anything about it, my mind starts to think creatively…
  1. Rural areas don’t need a Smog ? and I just happen to have a family cabin in Truckee Tahoe area! Hmmmm what would that mean? :)
  2. Since now the vendors cannot ship non-CARB parts to a California address, the fact that Reno, NV is just over 30 minutes or so from the cabin is not lost on me… Neither is the fact that it’s legal to have an out of state UPS Store mailbox?
If one more so inclined, one could get around Smog ? and have a reasonable way to purchase and pick up any parts they would like!

I certainly wouldn’t do it (since we are on the record ?)

And i certainly wouldn’t have you order a injen CAi for me one of these days so i would be able to pick it up from you ?.. I’d never do that because I live in California?..
Also injen is made in California however can’t be sold or used in Cali… only because they didn’t pay the state money to EO it… so stupid.

and I would never agree to such an egregious violation of a very reasonable state! I’m just so glad that California chooses the moderate route and that’s why I can’t support you?

just to prove it, I’ll make sure and let you know when I have that address that can be used. We can even discuss the particulars of What absolutely won’t happen at that point ?

How embarrassing, I’m so deeply sorry for offending you, sir/ma’am/other!

This reminds me of Landman!!
I FREAKING LOVE when the female lawyer is insulted when he says:

ā€œā€¦ and a club soda for the ladyā€

She replies
ā€œ I’d prefer if you didn’t call me lady.ā€ (says it
in such an arrogant way)

Now the best part (I love his smart ass retort) and just the delivery is spot on):
ā€œOh did I guess wrong?ā€
ā€œI’m sorry, sir.ā€
ā€œAnd my hats off to the plastic surgeon who
shaved that Adams apple!ā€

I need that show to return immediately! Anyone who hasn’t seen it, you must see it! You can thank me for that gem, if you haven’t yet!

I accept gratitude in the form of mods:
- Inner cooler and charge pipe
- Then I’m ready for the Livernois tune

I will provide additional recommendations if anyone wants to go all out and thank me with
- RTX ZION 20x9 black red accents 0 offset
- general grabbers: 33x12.50

OK, I will bow out of that particular subject immediately!!
