Hello everyone,
I've been lurking on here for a couple years since I bought my 2023 Ranger and decided it was time to join.
I just got into Forscan and made a few changes on my ride. Bambi Mode, Fog Lights on Turn, Battery State of Charge to 90%, Power Point Feature on 24/7. I want to thank everyone for all the posts I have read to learn more and more. I made sure to back up all the modules.
I'm going to put some LED lights in my cap on a rocker switch powered by the power point by the rear wheel. Also under the hood on a rocker switch from the fuse box.

Thanks, Al

What's the 'power point on 24/7'? Is that an outlet in the bed? Didn't know they had that on the 5G.

The (Max) time out is 18-Hours - 8-Minutes and 15 Seconds or 18.2 Hours
This gives you - FFFF or (FFFF-xxxx-xxxx)

You can actually set the (Time) to anything you want.
Just use a (Decimal to Hex) Convertor and input the (Hex) outcome here.

FFFF- in hex generally means (ALL) or (Max) and if you try to change (increase) the timeout above the noted (Max) you push into a (5-Charactor) Hex Code
Example:
18.2 Hours = 65,535 Seconds
65,535 Seconds Converted to Hex = FFFF
If you bump up (1-Second) you generate a (5-Code) Hex that needs to fit in that 4-code programming line of code.

So, you can set the Time to anything as long as you do not go above 65.535 seconds.
The below is just a basic guide and I think these are the ones pre-programmed into Forscan (Easy Menu)

Thanks. But, what is the power point? The interior power outlets, or the one in the bed... and does the 5G have one in the bed?

The Front (USB) ports are powered via the FCIM - as these are Charge/Data Ports
The Front (Power Points) are the Sockets (Lighter) and are Powered via Power Point Relay #1
The Rear Console (Power Points) are the USB Charge Only Ports and Ford gives you an optional connector located just in front of the LR Tire on the frame rail, this (Optional) plug is the connection point for you to run additional power into the bed (Lighting, Socket etc)

Bed Power - If you look in front of the LR tire and up along the Frame, you will see a connector that is (Dead-Ended) you have power here and can tap this with a connector to run up into the bed.

The Rear Console & Bed Power - use Power Point Relay #2

The timing of the Power Point Relays (Time-Out) after the truck is shut off is adjustable but it is (All-Inclusive) for all power points, there is not an adjustment for (1-Power Point Relay) to have a different time setting.
The time adjustment is for the (Relay-itself) when power drops off of the relay and it opens.

Also in Forscan if you set the Power Point Feature to disable, it will turn off the power point timer and always be on. At least, that's my understanding from researching all the forscan posts.

I forgot about that setting, others have confirmed when set to (Disable) it only disables the Power Point (Timeout) Feature so it will relay soley on the BMS to drop the power via Load Shed. I would be cautious on changing that setting though (one misstep-I forgot to turn off the lights) and you may find yourself needing a jump.

You are right. I guess that's what the BMS is supposed to do. Prevent the battery from getting to low to start.

Thank you for a great exclamation as just recently installed a wolf haus and some bed lights and want to extend the time. Do have a odd question , if i remote start the truck , will it provide power to the back power point or will only once key start?

I don't really know if the remote start triggers the power point timer. Usually, the remote start seems to limit the things that are "alive" until you put the key in and turn the ignition. Try searching the forum on that subject.

No, the BCM has to see (Ignition switch input) to trigger power out (if the relays have timed out)

A lot of people disable the BMS.

I'll leave it alone for now and see how things work out. Maybe change it later
