Downloaded and and installed the latest Sync update (3.4.23188) and all of my location and FordPass issues are resolved. Glad it didn't take Ford too long to get an update out.
Cool ?

Reviving this as I just ran into this. Didn't update for 4 days. Thanks to threads I read on this site I knew to pull fuse #9, I checked it with an ohm meter and it was fine. Put it back in and then went to the menu and it showed it connecting to LTE and things seemed to work again.

Yay for the simple fix.

Even though I don't use it my Ford Pass hasn't been working for months. I saw this thread, pulled fuse 9 and plugged back in.

Ford Pass working right away.

Thanks!

Glad it worked for someone else. I love the programming here that if the modem can't connect that it just goes crazy and keeps trying harder and harder. There is unlimited power right? Sigh, I thought applying backoff strategies was a known thing. I'll just crawl into my curmudgeon corner now. As I mentioned in my other thread:

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/telematics-bms-and-their-connection.33514

the real concern for me was that my charging voltages were higher than normal and not coming down. Given the new Lariat battery I installed a few months ago I got concerned. So, the pulling of fuse 9 fixed two things thankfully.

Is the #9 fuse under the dash?

Yes, under the dash. They say keep it out for 5 minutes. I think I did that because I walked into the garage, pulled out my ohm meter, tested it, put the ohm meter back and then reinstalled the fuse.

To check, I then went into the menus to confirm it saw my WiFi and LTE

This just happened again. I noticed my voltage was a bit higher than normal and then noticed the battery icon instead of the location icon in the sync window. I opened Fordpass and it said my truck was still at the location where I was yesterday. Pulled fuse 9 for a couple minutes, reinstalled started the truck, went into the Fordpass Connect menu and saw it connecting to LTE. I hope this isn't an every 3 month occurance.

The false location thing has happened several times over the last couple years of ownership. I do nothing, and every time it seems to fix itself.
